We kind of agree with you @Joshua DiTullio but we loved both also! Not sure how many dolphins are around Roatan... But during our brief stay in Bocas, we saw a few there of the main island and learned there is a certain breed or pod(?) that live there. Shopping seemed like better selection on Roatan to us. Plenty of restaurants in both places. We leave next month to potentially move to Roatan.

That's excellent that you saw dolphins! Potentially moving to Roatan must be an exhilarating life event to anticipate! How did that come to be?

We did also, when there in Bocas we did see some Dolphins swimming out in the bay from our hotel room. But did decide to retire on Roatan last year after visiting several times after Bocas. The much easier access was a big factor for vacations... and a smaller factor now that we live here. But knowing we can get on a plan easily from here to return to points in the USA and beyond is comforting. Many restaurants in both places for sure.

Hi @David Polister, lovely choice to choose Roatan to retire to and you're completely right: hopping on a plane to be able to gain access to points in the USA and/or Canada is very important at certain stages of life or if there's family that you want to be able to see, or perhaps even some healthcare options. We get it. Very nice choice and you're in a really unique position also to have visited both Bocas del Toro and Roatan.to be able to compare them both. We wish we would have run into you and Roatan in the year that we lived there, maybe sometime in the future. Who knows? You'd have a great perspective if we interviewed you for our channel!! Thank you so much for watching our video. We hope you clicked the LIKE button and we thank you for doing that and leaving a comment. Those 2 things really help our channel grow, thank you! 🙏

There is clearly more to do in bocas than roatan. Nightlife is better in bocas with a younger crowd and bocas has 9 islands all of them with different activities
@PlanFree3 жыл бұрын
Both excellent points @Lala Becket. For us, nightlife was not factored in really... its not really our thing (only from time to time) but I suppose could have been mentioned in this vid. We were also not in Bocas long enough to really know night activities but we definitely were in Roatan long enough to know. Roatan had a young night crowd also and we can guess its much the same in Bocas. The surfer, diver partier was mainly out and about at night. It was fun a few times! But we're just normally in bed by 9pm so we didn't think to factor the nightlife into this video! 😂 And you're right: one Island compared to 9 islands is definitely be a big difference. More variety in Bocas. 👍 Again....Bocas is probably worth of a repeat visit one day for us. Perhaps showing how each of the 9 islands varies in texture and feel. You think? Thanks so much for watching your video we really hope you liked it and click the like button! And also we really appreciate the comment! We love reading people's perspectives and thoughts on places and on our videos so that's super cool that you took a minute to write it! 🙏

Bocas Del Toro Scuba Diving | The coral is dead and the fish are gone...go to ROATAN!

Hey @Panama Bruja, how are you? well, we certainly cannot DISagree with you in regards to Roatan! Wow that was a magical place.....we lived there also for 3 months one winter and we had the time of our lives. We did a T O N of free diving all over Roatan and it has been some of the BEST free diving we have see to date. Check out our video of "Roatan for 3 months", our experience, if you are interested!: kzbin.info/www/bejne/faPMeWuima1_mNU One thing to note though, we did not own a GoPro or any kind of underwater camera at that time, so there are no shots of what we saw under the water. (sniff sniff) Anyways, thanks for watching and for your comment, we love that! Please click the LIKE button on any of our vids that you like, that really helps our channel grow. We thank you!
