Also, since you've mentioned Pirates of the Caribbean - the Flying Dutchman is a real-world maritime legend about a ghost ship, and both the "Pirates" franchise and One Piece both based their version of the ship on it. Water does not negate devil fruit powers... it just weakens the users so they cannot use them at will... but since luffy just had one arm in the water before making it big he managed to get one attack in before he was to weak... also robins arm sprout so fast that she managed to do her thing before getting to weak...

:v don't take it the wrong way though. I am not a Robin simp , it's just she is a very well fleshed out character. I will just give one example. Robin's dark humor is a character trait that no other character has, which gives an individualistic feeling, like she is an actual person. Her pessimistic thoughts on everything can also be associated with her backstory. She sought shelter from different people after O'Hara was burned and was betrayed over and over again. People who go through continuous betrayal have this tendency to always think the worst case scenario about every situation. So, this trait of hers doesn't seem out of the blue either. Oda has done a magnificent job with creating this character and I have deep appreciation for that. I actually did not expect you to reply. I will be honest in saying that I don't know what made you a Robin fan and it might be possible that you have already appreciated everything I have said above. But from the reactions I have seen so far, it's mostly simping : P . For such a well thought out character, it kind of makes me sad when people just consider her as a waifu material. Thanks for listening to this ranting. You can say I like to rant about robin as well.

Robin decided to stay with the Revolutionary Army for the 2 years after seeing the message Luffy left in the newspaper. so, Robin wasn't forced to stay with the Revolutionary Army. another thing about Robin is that... she is the ONLY person in the WORLD that can read the ponoglyphs. by having such an ability, she is one of the MOST IMPORTANT person in the WORLD. if you remember, supposedly, the ponoglyphs hold secrets/information about a legendary weapon that can turn the world upside down. and... the World Government does not want anybody to actually decipher the ponoglyphs. making Robin one of the MOST WANTED in the WORLD.

Why do people dislike the fact that you love Robin a lot? It makes no sense to me. Also, people love to compare what Robin does to what Nami does on the ship when both their roles are different in the story. Yes, Nami is going to do more on the ship because she is the navigator, which is her role, so she will definitely get more screen time, but in the case of Robin, her role is an archaeologist and therefore she won't have a lot to do on the ship, since her role revolves around things that affect the World directly. Moreover, if you take out the fact that Nami is a navigator and focus on what she has done outside of her role as a navigator, then you'll see that Robin has done way more.

After the fishman island arc..you can just skip the punk hazard episodes. For how long the arc is and how little the payoff is it's not worth it. Very bad pacing, it gets very boring. Even dressrosa pacing was bad.. that's why Toei gets hate. Bad animation bad pacing.
