I think I was about 16 or 17 years old (not even sure how old I was), I was listening to hardcore already for a while (since late 80's) and then I had a guy who had a cap from Natas productions. I wanted this so badly, that I kept on whining about it. So finally he sold it to me for 30 gulden (currency we had before Euro). And I ricked that cap every day! My mom however was not so happy with this, because, well, she went to church and stuff every now and then, and was religious. Not extremely, just visiting church every now and then, and we said prayers before and after dinner (I always hated that, but it was the rule). She was really disgusted about the cap, because, well, turn it around and it said ''Satan''. So she often told me she didn't like it. But, the more she told me this, the more I liked it! She always thought hardcore had a bad influence on me. But I was just being a kid, leave me alone. I liked my daily dose of hardcore, I loved my artists, and I wasn't that far from the right path. I didn't do drugs (except for the few thingsa I tried), I did drink in the weekend as everyone did, and I went to school, and later also got jobs. So nothing wrong with that, but, because of hardcore, and ''Natas'' I could turn out very bad. Nowadays I'm happily married, have a kid, a job, a house. So I didn't turn out as bad as they always thought 😹 Even with my Natas cap, and all my flyers everyone collected. Sadly the cap was so worn out that I got rid of it one day. Or, maybe even my mom did, I don't even know (I don't wanna blame her for that, but it might). These are some nice memories from my hardcore years back in the days haha. Nowadays I started appreciate gangster and reality rap way more. Back in the days it was only hardcore, nowadays it's almost every music style, except for Dutch singers, because that still just sounds like trash. I rather listen to a false cat choir.
