I know and it's not even close. How they haven't won a record breaking amount of awards is beyond me. I don't even think they have an Emmy. This show is gonna be one of those shows after it's gone will be fully appreciated and everyone will act like they watched it way before it was the cool thing. @@lovesgucci1 Your comment confuses two different things. 1) The Business Side: a) Sure, he likely chose a bigger paycheck because Phillies were willing to pay b) But even on top of the money, it appears he made a good choice on the franchise he chose. A lot of franchises pay big money to one player don't build a team right afterwards. Phillies appear to be a good choice even for it's front office, it is serious about winning. Picking the right front office is more than just money - he wanted to win too. c) He committed his entire career to one place, Philly - no opt outs! That's WAY MORE THAN MONEY. In fact, he easily could have made more money with an opt out clause, which would allow him to renegotiate later or walk to another team, like so many other players. He didn't do that. He said it's Philly forever. He chose to be a Philly the rest of his career. 2) The Fan Side: a) Nobody forced him to embrace the city after signing. b) Most players DON'T. c) He embraces the fans because he wants the fans to embrace him back. d) He would get the exact same paycheck whether he does all his fan stuff or not. Conclusion: I think he loves his choice in his team and wants to soak up the good times and memories with the fans.

That’s not a knock on Philly but the Phillies were in bad shape when he came here & have been for 8 seasons prior. He specifically said he wanted a long term contract because he didn’t want to go through the who FA process again. Also his was pregnant with his 1st child. No opt out was because he didn’t want to hear the rumors of a trade or anything like that. Harper & his family also moved to Nashville & live there in the off season but once school starts for the kids, his wife & kids will probably be there year round. He wanted to be a Yankee but didn’t even get a call from them. I think he doesn’t regret it at all now but does regret the $330 million because he & Boras have been asking for an extension (which really means more money.)
