Rob & Patti on the Run - Breakfast on the Farm

Today Patti and I take a trip to Eden, Wisconsin to visit the Abel Dairy Farm to have breakfast.
June is dairy month in Wisconsin and several counties put on a breakfast on the farm to celebrate and support the agriculture business here in Wisconsin. This year‘s Fond du Lac farm is the Abel dairy farm in Eden Wisconsin.
Patti and I try to make this an annual event for a couple reasons. Number one, supporting agriculture here in Wisconsin is the right thing to do and number two, the breakfast is usually pretty tasty.

Thank you…. Yes this is a pretty unique breakfast date. We enjoy going each year and checking out the different farms. A couple years ago it was as a goat farm. A couple times it was at small family farms.

I didn't expect my favorite youtube couple to make a family trip to the farm and meet a congressman! Back in the day, they use to make quips about being sent to the "Funny farm", but I presume eating GUD food and cracking funny jokes on a farm is not what they meant!

Yes, I think the funny farm is a totally different thing. Probably a little politically incorrect these days. It was good to see a US Representative at the breakfast. I spoke to him once before at a grocery store. I can’t imagine what that job must be like. Nothing I would ever want to do. Whether they are Republican or Democrat…. I don’t care. I would thank them either way because somebody has to do that difficult job.

Yes… huge event. I heard they had over 4,000 people there. We try to get there every year. They host it at a different farm and it’s quite educational.

What a great tour you two! Thanks for bringing us along. Huge farm, I had no idea there was something so large in Eden, WI. Brought back memories of taking my Hammond X-5 to Breakfast on the farm years ago and playing favorites for folks while they dined. Almost felt like I was there with you guys. Truly a "good day".

I think this was the first year that we did not see a live band playing. Hey… maybe we saw you in years past playing. It definitely was a good day. I saw that over 4,000 people attended. It definitely was a busy and fun place to be.

Probably wine for sure. But, Patti‘s not all that big into cheese. I usually have to visit those places on my own.

I'm a huge cheese fan - I'd be in heaven with all those samples 💖 If you ever decide to visit the UK, let me know..I know some great places for cheese. I loved seeing that schoolbus too, there's something fascinating to me about those big lazy V8s working throughout the year mile after mile..Sorry, I'm a bit of a nerd when it comes to big engines

In my working days I visited the UK a lot. Mostly in the Knowsley, Liverpool area. I hope to visit again one day. So much history in that area of the world. It would be great to check out a farm there.
