Here’s the back story again, which I uploaded with the original video:
I was working at Soul Candi, teaching music business. I had told the class I wrote original music. After class, a young guy called Cuebur walked up to me and said, "Hey Rob, do you have any vocal separates of your tracks?" I said, "Sure." I gave him these vocals. I think it was a Thursday. I think I saw him the following Tuesday, and he'd come up with 3 amazing remixes.
One of them, of course, was this song. This particular remix is the one that became a hit and was played on YFM and Metro FM. I have both Cuebur and Shimza to thank for that. Cuebur turned the track into a hit, and Shimza got it out to the people. And I will be forever grateful to both of them for helping me to get my music to a much wider audience.
I will also always be grateful to the Indie Filmmaker’s Club, headed up by Dom and Nic, who helped me turn this awesome song into a music video. The crew and cast were absolutely amazing. You can also see Cuebur in the video.
What I really love about it is the fact that it’s shot in black and white, with just a hint of red coming through from Kudi’s dress. The corporate colours of the Rob Rodell brand are black and white, with undertones and secondary colours of silver and grey, so this video was the perfect match for me.
