Rob Thomas, in my humble opinion, is one of the mainstream songwriters that keeps Rock moving forward in an honest form. Thanks Rob. And, if you ever need an electrician for a home or office project done, I'm your guy. metro from nc

By far my #1 favorite artist. I have all his stuff, Matchbox Twenty, Solo & even Tabitha's Secret. I listen to them all beginning to end & there isn't a song I skip. The only artist for which I do this. Never stop Rob!! There are people like me anxiously awaiting the next one! BTW, I heard him sing an INXS song in concert & he killed it. The year he toured with the Goo Goo Dolls I saw him 3 times. It was my favorite tour! His solo stuff is so great. Love me some Rob Thomas music!! 🎶🎸🎼🎵

I have loved this guy and his band since I heard Long Day. I've seen them/him in concert more times than I can even remember. His music has morphed a bit over time but he has never left his style. Tabitha's Secret day one man. Keep on making music mister because we may be few and far between these days but we are still here! Especially those of us that grew up in the 80s. You're still here though man. ❤

Rob is forever humble, but he never did get the credit he deserved for "Smooth". He's such a talented singer/songwriter. As much as he feels his work on their first album was sub par compared to today, I am over 60 and been a MB20/Rob Thomas fan since day one...Yourself Or Someone Like You is still my favorite to this day and is my go to Matchbox album. Maybe polished does not always necessarily mean "better", just different.
@FairyGodMom74 жыл бұрын
I have been able to see Rob Thomas in concert twice and Carlos Santana once. I was hopeful that Santana would perform Smooth. He didn't. The first time I saw Rob Thomas was with Matchbox Twenty. I was crossing my fingers for Smooth. Nope. BUT the second time I saw Rob Thomas (Chip Tooth Smile tour) he said "I wrote the damn song; I can sing it" and then he belted out Smooth. It was AWESOME!

Nancy I am about to turn 45 and I love Him and MB20! My go to song 🎶 is Push and same favorite album! He is so very humble because he wrote the songs for an entire era!♥️🎶🥰

I was 8 years old when I saw Carlos Santana at Woodstock. It was so awesome and amazing at the same time. To see Carlos now knowing when I 1st saw him he was so young and the way he played his guitar was awesome and amazing at that time August 15th to the 19th 1969. Then following Rob Thomas and Matchbox 20 since the beginning about 23 years I think is along time to be following GREAT music. When I can't sleep I listen to music and I listen to all kinds but there's 1 thing that I need to say that growing up in the Era of the 60's and 70's we had the great music and the greatest cars.

Rob Thomas, last of the great musicians and of a time period that will never be matched. He has such great talent from his band to individuality. Back when you needed talent to reach something. What a casual guy for the success he has achieved. A true dying breed, up there with Green Day and Disturbed and Three Days Grace to name a few. As my dad says, "our dads got to live the last of the best music generation". Brings me to tears thinking of the depth of this interview.... Think about it.

I know this is an older video but I just found it. What a great interview with two guys that seemed to actually have a great time doing it. As for Rob Thomas, I saw him many times at The Other Place in Daytona Beach in his band Tabitha's Secret when they first played 3am. Nice guy who was always ready with a handshake and a smile. Very humble and friendly.

I have been blessed to see and meet Rob several times. I believe the last time I saw Rob was in 2017. He is still that friendly, down-to-earth and humble. One of my faves. Though I will say all the other MB20 members are the same way as well and all the members of his band when he performs solo. Frankie Romano and Matt Beck are the ones I am most familiar with. He surrounds himself with the like and I am sure that contributes to their long career.

in all due respect, i love wallflowers and have always been a fan, but the interviewer is a little off and sounded like it was an insult to the wallflower if being mistaken as the matchbox twenty or vice versa. matchbox twenty sold 40M+ albums, more top 10 songs, although they failed to win a grammy. still, he's talking to Rob, multiple solo grammy winner & a songwriter HOF (first recipient of Songwriters Hall of Fame Hal David Starlight Award), and still making record. he could have said it's flattering, although they are not equal. but to sound offended is so off.

Im so happy for this interviewer and these questions. But at the same time, I feel bad for Rob. He wants to make new music and be known for new music while all anyone wants to hear and talk about or ask questions about is Matchbox. Thats gotta feel defeating,
