The best thing I ever did was answer "no" when someone genuinly asked if I was ok. Fellas, if you're battling your mind, you can't win alone. Paddy is right. At least fucking talk. A real mate will listen. I've even got support from KZbin commenters. One of which sent me a crocheted blanket for free. We've never even met in person. There are all sorts of horrible things in this world and it's extremely difficult at times. But it's worth sticking around. At least I think so.

@@Red-Rambo True and well stated but I admit - I was a fan of Connor and his trash talk was a big part of that - simply because it was funny and entertaining. However, once it got out of had, and especially after the bus incident, punching an old man in a pub and even the money fight against Mayweather - I lost respect for Connor. His message was always about him. Paddy's message is for every single person with mental issues - especially men. So at this point in time - I wouldn't compare them - Paddy is by far the better person.

When I was 21 yrs old I found myself in the same spot in the woods with the same gun to my head , and I heard an internal male voice in my head tell me not to do it cause I can’t take it back and that’s the only thing that stopped me , was an audible hallucination . 28 now and have had a lot of stuff happen in that 7 years I would have never been able to experience . Even helped a couple people that I was sure was gonna kill themselves if I didn’t sit there and talk to them for 3 hrs crying cause I was so sure they were not gonna be here tomorrow . The message needs to be that people need to CARE about men. Nobody cares about men or their mental health and THAT’S why they don’t talk. Men are blamed for everything that’s wrong with the world and respect for men is at an all time low. That needs to change and this nouveau feminism which is callous and heartless towards men must stop. We are all one regardless of being a man or a woman. A bit of compassion wouldn’t go amiss.

This is amazing. Speaking with experience being (now I think about it) scarily close to ending the game for myself, talking to a friend, family member, doctor or councillor must be done. Exhaust your options before just quitting - things are NEVER as bad as you think; you just have to try to take a step back and see the whole picture instead of just a bad, gloomy section 😊 I'm glad mental health continues to be spoken about 🥰 Thanks, Paddy and everyone else making it a thing to be spoken about.

Now here I am without a dad…without a mom and sometimes I do wonder if someone could have just got through to my father & step dad things would be so much different. Whenever I go through a rough patch in life I’m super aggressive about talking with friends with what’s going on inside of my mind….I think we all deal with stuff…money/relationships/stress…and yeah we are alive at the same time together and we should look out for each other

My cuz was sniffing solvents, an alcoholic, on all types of drugs and at the brink. He had tied a noose around his head and had a knife in one hand. His plan was to slash at his carotid as he leaped of the mezzanine floor in his panel beating shop. He thought in honor of my dead mother who loved him so much, in a last ditch attempt he would call the suicide help line. Standing at the edge, noose around neck, knife in one hand, 1980's aerial phone in the other, he pushed "dial". The phone rang, rang and rang some more...to no avail. The thought that even they weren't willing to help him in such a pathetic situation and time of need was too much. So much in fact that it made him burst into laughter at the state of himself. We still regularly joke about it to this day. So I guess the moral of the story ironically enough is that it's not always best to talk to someone.

@@kylejones8891 it was a different time pal, you can't be so sure. We come from a hard country where that type of thing was mocked and life in this way was if you didn't want to live it, then fu$k off and die pussy. That's not how I feel, just the reality of this geographic location and the Era. The reason a lot of suicide is not reported upon is due some psychological reaction where it becomes a trend. Had he told his brother or father they may very well have pointed him to the nearest cliff. When my Korean brother in law had his first heart break he was sobbing for more than a week. His dad suggested he go kill himself in shame. There is something to be said for stoicism and natural selection. I think people should get help although the world is far different than only you have lived it. Gratitude know matter the circumstances is my answer. That and this too shall pass.
