Michael Myers is my favorite of horror icon. In a fight with Jason I always thought they would be equal in strength mostly because Michael got shot 6 times and got up and ran away. That made me think the he was always supernatural even if all the sequels are cut out.

Love it. I can't stand the Zombie movies, though I will admit that at least there are _some_ redeeming qualities to the first one. That first half though... dear lord, I had to shut the film off because it was that bad. Rob Zombie felt he needed to make everyone grunge and over the top foul mouthed, but it just made everyone less human and relatable.

The thing about Michael vs Jason is that Michael has never died and has taken similar amount of damage. Ex the hospital explosion was more intense in H2 1981, than the house explosion in F13 pt 7. Another ex, Michael took infinite bullets in H4 1988, and Jason felt apart to bullets in Jason X. I admit Jason seems to more supernatural on the surface, but a direct 1-1 comparison Michael is more resilient, clever and has never technically died.

Rob Zombie Halloween (2007) is my favorite movie EVER! I’m watching it rn actually. I think the Daeg Faerch did an amazing job playing little Michael. I think the back story is partly why I love it so much. I think the run he did in the hallway was to show him look a bit goofy before he was about to murder someone and go on a killing spree.

I have a love hate relationship with this movie honestly. I hated the fact that they made Myers have a trailer trash backstory and made him try and be human. But I loved the brutality and the fact that this movie made michael into a monster. If there was no backstory and it just showed him being a monster it would be great. I get that it's a remake and Rob Zombie made his own thing and that's cool. My friend and I like to make a joke to ourselves saying that it's like an alternate universe to the original. The Loomis in this version seemed to exploit this evil being by making a story on him, while Donald wouldn't do that. Then this Laurie was much more if a cry baby and not as smart? It's as if all the characters from the original got turned into their oppisites. Michael was humanized, Loomis was kinda a greedy beautiful bastard and Laurie was a whiny little butt. All in all though. I thought the movie had good stuff in it. And if I just stop and remember this isn't supposed to be a carbon copy to the 78 version I can like it. I give it a 6 maybe 7.

The biggest fail in this film is that Dr. loomis really has no story responsibilities here. In the original, we knew nothing about Michael except what we saw in the opening scene and then the rest was fed to us through Loomis. In the remake we know more than Loomis does, which makes his role more ceremonial than relevant.

I agree they humanized him, and left out the mystery portion of him a little bit. I think why Rob explained his backstory a little bit was to get people a little familiar with him a little bit. Many millenials haven't seen Halloween 1978, or the earlier ones, and honestly many Halloween movies were pure garbage. You couldn't take Myers seriously. Let's be honest here, am I wrong for saying that ? So what Rob did, he made Myers more into a slasher, and made him a little taller. Rob Zombies myers was probably the scariest Michael I have ever seen. Although, he made him more of a slasher than a mystery character.

When I originally saw this Halloween it was a downloaded screener copy of it, while it was still in theatres. it possessed the elements of the directors cut i.e. (the unnecessary rape scene) but the ending was different. The ending had Loomis begging Michael to let Laurie go and Michael does. Michael then drops his knife and proceeds to followed Loomis and Laurie and is then shot down by the Haddonfield police while Loomis screams please don't and then Michael's dead and the movie zooms out, The end.

To be fair though about Jason VS Michael: Jason in part 2-4 was HUMAN, for all intents and purposes. It wasn't until after The Final Chapter that the supernatural aspect of Jason was introduced. So with that being said, Michael VS Jason 2-4 I think it would be close. Michael, skinny and lanky easily picked up Bob with one hand and stabbed a kitchen knife through him hard enough to keep him stuck to the wall. Jason also is capable of brute strength and able to take multiple attempts to be killed. Between how many times Michel was shot by Dr Loomis and how Jason could take an axe to the head, it would be a close damn call. Now, Supernatural Jason would destroy Michael because he is literally already dead and with super strength and endurance.

Tbh I think the OG Michael would be able to beat the OG Jason in death battle, he's basically like Satan's pawn on earth. Jason is strong no doubt, but Michael is thsg unrelenting force that just keeps coming back. And let's not forget Jason has been killed Michael has never been killed he always goes into either a coma or deep sorta sleep. (And that's including Zombie Jason ). (Part 6 brought back by lighting, part VII Tina with the telekinesis, and Part VIII with the anchor hitting the electric cable under crystal lake. Ik alot of people will say oh Jason has had more done to him which may be true but just because Michael never had certain things happen to him leaves it up to debate on whether he could survive or not. Like if they tried decapitating him he'd probably just get the saw or weapon stuck in him and pass out. Jason we dont really know if he could survive a decapitation or not, but rembering Part IV when he gets his hand cut basically in half by the machete (tho he was weaker then), I would think that Jason would maybe be able to have limbs cut off. (Im not coutong H20 Or Resurrection Myers or Jason GTH, X, or FVJ Voorhees cause to me those were more of direct sequels/different versions of these two killers. Just Michael from (1-6, barring 3), and Jason from 1-8, barring 5).

To add to my point in this previous long comment, not saying Jason could have limbs cut off I'm saying maybe, but even if not he would probably have more damage done to him. (Also, Satan/Hell literally didn't want Michael, and he came back, I think that says alot right there). As Loomis says in Halloween Part V The Revenge Of Michael Myers, "I prayed that he would burn in hell, but in my heart, I knew that hell would not have him." I feel like Michael would defiently be on the ground more making for some great moments with Michael sitting up in his famous way, but I think the evil would eventually take over, plus Michaels smarts would be the downfall for Mr. Voorhees. But I could be wrong just my opinion. 🤷 Please Mike, J, if u get the chance please give me your opinion on this pov with Michael vs Jason thx would love to get ur opinions on it.

I want to watch this again now. Might even buy this on bluray, its just a mixed bag for me. some things about it are pretty alright. I don't like that Michael Grunts every time he does a kill. I like Mask: one of the better mask in the entire series. don't want you to give Michael a shitty backstory about his terrible upbringing. Another positive is the casting choices, besides Squishy face Michael. Scout Taylor Compton did a great job playing Laurie. as did Brad Dourif, Danielle Harris and Malcolm McDowell respectfully. I loved the part where Michael tackled Laurie off the Balcony. It just looked so Krazy, the way they shot that scene from a low angle. You guys did a great job on the review as usual. 👍🎃

If they would've just made Michael a normal suburban kid who grows up normal until he just randomly falls into madness, then it would've been great. It's no where near the perfection of the 1978 classic but this was a different take on it which I do find myself coming back to every now and then . My personal favourite RZ movie is a House of 1000 corpses . Got that 70s grindhouse feel to it . I love it

I actually didn't mind the back story, I loved it. Why? Because it was a fresh remake/reboot(maybe) and not a direct link to the Carpenter Universe (maybe some nods) or a recycled replica. I enjoyed the new back story like his past, what happened to his mother, and his time in the mental asylum. Once Michael is full masked mode, it just gets even better. I loved that gotcha ending and it goes on for an extra 15 minutes. The ending was good too but it made me cry and feel sorry for Michael. The first 20 minutes of the second film (hospital scene) was great and there were great moments but the first one takes the cake.

Would Jason win,though!? My reasoning for Michael coming out on top has always been this; Michael seems to be unable to die whereas Jason generally has to be resurrected. It's all about endurance. For all these multiple timelines,Micheal still hasn't died. With the POSSIBLE exception of the sequel to this remake.

I actually think this movie is underrated. It’s not perfect by any means. But deserves some love. For one I don’t mind the Michael backstory. I just think it could have used some tightening up. Perhaps another edit. But I thought it was a nice change to see his slow decent into evil, rather than him just becoming evil one night. I get what your saying about Rob Zombies movies. He tends to get to self indulgent. I think he has a natural talent for story and his movies has a distinct look and feel. But he needs to learn when less is more. And finally Tyler Main is a former professional wrestler, and is 6’5’. Being so athletic I think helps his Version of Michael, from his walk and movements, to just over all presence.

Have you ever seen the Workprint version? Some scenes are different, Michael is more Brute Force and the ending is entirely different
