Thanks for making a video about the Robak. Your feedback motivated me to do some research on the ESC/motor systems so now I understand this topic better. I'd recommend this video everyone building the Robak to watch because it shows what you can expect from cheap systems and how better the more expensive combos could be (even if the specs looks the same on paper). You're a great teacher! Have fun driving your Crabbak 😀

grin.. really I know little compared to how you researched your design.. your table regarding power / heat / torque is a great aid in selecting a good motor / ESC combo.. I somehow mis-interpreted the T rating and got an 8.5T, when I should have ordered a 13.5T.. so mine will run a little hot.. But on the up side it will be faster.. But I need to design a simple bumper as I am not a great driver .. and I built some dirt ramps and used rocks to hold in the dirt .. rocks are not friends of poor drivers.. smile.. so .. somehow mine came to a halt on a side rock impact and I thought I had broken a diff.. .. But it gave me a chance to take it apart and glue tires.. install the new servo holder with the DumboRC cutout, new support block.. and I soldered the ESC directly to motor.. and the diff seems okay.. not sure why it stopped.. It will be on the road again soon.

Thank you for taking the time and sharing your experience with the motor/esc combo and other recommendations. I can't wait until all my parts arrive, been checking the mail everyday ha

I really like the sensored motor/esc pair.. If you are ordering from Ali, you might want to order 2 of many of the cheap metal parts if you plan to jump it..(drive CVD, drive shaft, pinion.. but order them 2 weeks apart so they don't get lumped into the same shipment.. Two benefits.. often the odd order take 3 mo to arrive, but most are 2-4 weeks. And you have a spare! If you use the 3 part Diff you’ll need 25mm flat heads. It’s a great build!
