So, CBC British Columbia was responsible for the CBC of the Yukon and Northwest Territories. That makes sense, I guess.

I'm sure it's mainly the West Coast feed of the CBC from Vancouver that is/was used up there for "CBC North".

It seems as if there are two distinct communities with the name "Gold River". Is this true? Also, the instrumental is Grover Washington, Jr. with "Can You Dig It?"

Fitting, that they put on Can You Dig It by Glover Washington Jr (1982) from the album The Best Is Yet To Come. Glover was known to put down some moody type of jazz. It was fitting as sign off music. It has that eazy late night funky mood. I need to visit British Columbia either Vancouver or Victoria. 😋 Need to chomp down on some Canadian salmon and seafood. 😋🇨🇦

Is it me or did CBC always have some black-and-white old-time movie after midnight to close off in the 80's?

I can't help but wonder if they missed a huge chunk of the province? What about south of Taber/Purden on Dragon Mountain, Potato Mountain or even Timothy?

How many areas IS that?

CBUT operates in Vancouver with repeaters/relays that dot the province of British Columbia. Through the Anik satellite, CBC's West Coast feed also serves as "CBC North" for the Yukon and the Northwest Territories. Of course this info is dated since analog broadcasts ended and CBUT only broadcasts in Vancouver, everyone else can only see CBC via cable/satellite (or their Gem platform).
