I gotta say I was a little suspect at first. I was like learn 100 fills yeah right . After watching this I have no doubt this is possible .thanks for showing us how to accomplish this . All I can say is I have a lot of fills to practice today. Thanks man

I'm an old man that still likes playing my drums as I do for my church. I love your method of teaching as it is plain and to the point. This is a real eye opener for me in the 6/8 time as we play/sing a lot of our church music in this beat. I'm going to be making the congregation "get down to a shaken" when I apply the method you mention in this lesson!! :) Thanks Rob for this and other videos you've made. I look forward to all of them!

The dugga method can be translated as the TACA method (in spanish). Ta, TACA and Tacatá (with an accent in the last a). But dugga works fine to me! Great lesson, as always!

I struggle to recall information, it goes in easy enough but then disappears into the abyss so I have to rely on instinct, muscle memory & feel, no 'go to' fills for me. This is absolute gold.

I don't comment very often but this lesson is awesome. Vocalizing the fills with this simple system is brilliant. Most of the rudiments are based on vocalization and I don't know why we don't do this more often. Rob, you are definitely in the top 5 drum instructors on KZbin thank you so much.

I absolutely love how simple you make things. No need to over complicate. This is especially helpful because I'm terrible at remembering specific fills. I improvise A LOT...lol. Doesn't help 99% of my time playing is by myself so...😯 Hopefully that will be changing soon.

Rob I have spent hours watching your tutorials and this dug Dugga duggada lesson was amazing I would give anything to be able to sit down across from you and work on my 6,8 groove and fills I've spent my life intimidated by those types of grooves, up to speed that is. You are amazing brother thank you for not acting like most drummers with their don't get as good as me attitude. YOU ARE THE MAN!

Wow Rob, that's one of the best fill tips to date. No thinking of a specific fill in a book, no 2-2-2-6-6x-y-z groupings, etc. Now I have this technique along with Dawson's syncopation p34-38, dit dah technique. Excellent man 👌

Nothing but love for this video. You just fixed 6/8 for me. I was awful at fills or trades in this time signature. I've never spent any money with you, but his one helped me so much that I'm going to buy some gear. I love your Jazz stuff, but I wish you had a similar system for trading 4's in Jazz. Everytime I get into a 4, I can get it started OK, but then it falls apart.

Rob, at 13:00 it sounded just like "you shook me" from the first Zeppelin album those were the kind of fills Bonham was doing and it feels like that was the time signature they probably used on that song it fits like a hand in glove so possibly was in 6/8 time I guess... really a great time signature to improvising in... thanks for this awesome lesson! Peace, Bob

Rob, congrats on having 100,000+ subscribers! You deserve to have way more than that your lessons are top shelf and very inspiring. Been following you for a long time before you took on your traditional grip that seems to be getting better and better now it looks like you have been doing it all along... it would be cool to get an update on that to get your feelings on how that's going and how it affects your playing now. After watching and being exposed to Buddy Rich a few years back after being a rock guy my whole life I started doing the same thing but it is a struggle especially when you go back and forth from one to the other would be great too get some pointers on maintaining both forms of grip and at this point what do you think and after transitioning for a while now do you feel one is better than the other would be really great to get your thoughts on that... Peace, Bob
