Years ago I met Peter Mayhew...who was down in the dumps it seemed. I commented on how there are hundred space marines or warriors, this creature or that but there was only ONE Chewbacca and he was it! There would be only ONE. That is how it is with Hagrid. Robert Coltrane brought Hagrid to life for all of us! His image, his voice, his mannerisms brought that character off the black and white pages of books and into our minds and hearts forever. Generations to come will be able to enjoy that as well (as will those who see Chewbacca in the Star Wars franchise). Their legacies and gifts to all of us for generations to come!

The guy playing Hagrid shaking Harry's hand is NOT Robbie Coltrane. That was a stuntman who played Hagrid whenever he directly interacts with the cast, because he is much taller than them. Coltrane's face was superimposed in post, that is why the face is really hard to see to begin with.

Another living legend gone I saw him watching cracker I wasnt a really big fan of cracker and or Harry Potter but he was really talented guy and fabulous actor I always thought that he was talented enough to go on and do more film and tv. He will be missed and by millions you wont get another one like him. Many thoughts go to his family friends work colleagues fans and people that knew him. Such a shame but I always say that he will be with all the other actors and actresses that died in the last few years he wont be forgotten I like to think there is a afterlife and that he is with people having a drink or two with them

I''ve posted this in other videos about him as I feel it's an important for me to share about him and his kindness: When my mum got married in 1995 in Manchester UK the year he was one of the semi-villains in Goldeneye. A friend of my mother’s who was in the film industry knew him and he lent his limo as a kind gesture for their wedding for the kids to ride in. When I got in there was a note on the backseat addressed to me along the lines of “ Hi Sam, enjoy the limo, snacks and fizzy drinks in the cooler for you and your friend but I don’t think your mum would be too happy if you cracked the champagne in there though!” Best wishes Robbie :) I was 12 years old and very touched that he went out of his way to write that to me, what a legend! I actually shed a tear on hearing his passing. Happy travels Robbie X
