I first heard this song on Link TVs program called "world music" maybe 16 years ago. I was 19 and suicidal at the time. This song really touched me back then. Since I've gotten in touch with my Ancestral roots.attended ceremonies. And done as much social activist work as I can. To give back to the People. We Shall Live Again! ☀️🌎

I was on a buffalo ranch in Colorado one day and saw a mother with her calf, in my head I asked the mother if I could touch her baby. Looking at the baby the mother walked to the fence where I held my hand up and she gently placed her head in my hand the right side to my elbow tingled from her power. I am greatful for her sharing with me. When miracle was a year old I went in dream to her and her coat was in the palm of my hand. I could not bring it back with me so I turned my hand over and it fell out of my hand, I woke up afterwards. Peace and blessings to those the red road must be well walked and many heart-felt prayers.

@@darlagreene2805 , Just a some facts to share with you. On Nov. 10th 1890 the U.S. Congress passed a law wherein it was illegal to dance on certain reservations. (This in an attempt to sqaush the Ghost Dance rival). The Ghost dance was a way to re-connect with dead loved ones and also bring back the golden age of the Buffalo. it was the fear of the natives banded together that led to this monstrous law. That law allowed for the groundwork to be laid for what we know as "Wounded Knee". Peace an Health to you Darla.

In a meditation some years ago, I met a family - father, mother, child - in the woods. The door was opened by this man, who welcomed me in, embraced me, and told me the name of my people ... I searched for 3 years on the net, looking for the name of those people. I found nothing I could honestly say was the name I heard (did I make it up, maybe it was a dream? ) Then, one day I bought a new CD - Music For The Native Americans - and there it was - Shoshone!! Thank you for this beautiful, powerful, coming-home music

Years have passed since that moment, but heard it again, a few days back when i was half watching/listening to a Netflix Tv show that was using it as background music. It hit me, transfixed me just as it did those many years ago. Anyone have a good suggestion for an album that would have a "best hits of ..." Please, and thank you.

It's too bad that Robbie and Levon couldn't mend their relationship. I didn't know either of them but there certainly seemed truth spoken from Levon and those closest to him. I'm guessing it was all Ego and Financial security. Robbie is one hell of a story teller, that is no doubt. Going from The Band to his 80s Pop and the 90s where he embraced his Native Roots was a far greater run than most Musicians could ever dream of. Today, I finally again embrace his solo music. My journey continues Mr. Robertson and I'll once again enjoy your work.

I heard this song years ago, back in elementary school (I'm 23 now) and my 5th grade teacher Mr Hensley used to play sings like this and he played this song dozens of times before. I never knew who sang this song but I was in a trance everytime I heard this song, now listening to this song take me back when I was in elementary school, when life was great T_T

Jacob Rodriguez maybe more to it than grade school. Open to How So many natives could return to this continent Now. Vehicle type not pertinent nor essential. No accident you heard the sentry back then, & brought around to it again. We shall live again. 🕊

The war is still being fought, just on different fields. Robbie BELIEVED. He is telling us in this song, hundreds of years into the battle, it’s all come down to whose will is greater. Those who remember will prevail over those who forget.
