I thought this was the set of CARNEY. The movie he did with Jodi Foster and Gary Busey. Robbie did the music Martin Scorcese(?)..Great old campy film. All the performers are REAL carney legends.

The movie is available here on UTube, and Robbie is gorgeous in it, never looked better and that is saying a lot.

I think Robbie is funny here, I'm sure he is stoned, but he is funny describing Scorsese and how he directs.

Napoleon… Indeed… Interesting how Rock’n’Roll and film meshes super creative egos like Scorsese and RR… RR is pretty much admitting Scorsese had him under a narco-hypnotic spell whether either of them knew it or not TLW is, indeed, spellbinding… It’s a glorious vision pulled from a bunch of 30 something musos falling apart but with a hell of a story to tell

A bit of everything, according to his book, except heroin. Love him.

@hannejeppesen1809 yes I love him too. Which book I'd that? "TESTIMONY"? I've got it but not had chance start it x
@hannejeppesen180918 күн бұрын
@@SheilaIbbotson Yes, it is Testimony, it is fascinating. He talks about his childhood, which less than ideal, had a physically abusive stepdad and not much money. Anyway, I won't give any more away. If you are also a fan of The Band as a group, you might want to read Barney Hoskyns biography of The Band, "Across the Great Divide' it gives a little more balanced view, since he is writing about the whole group.

@hannejeppesen18096 ай бұрын
Those of us who are Robbie fans, don't think so. Not fake, but I think he was stoned. Robbie was more intellectual (which is not the same as intelligent, I think all the Band members were intelligent, although some were self destructive) and the others, to some that might come off as fake. He didn't even finish high school, but read a lot, so basically self taught.

You write not to bash Robbie, and then you go on doing just that. They all did drugs at that time.
