I’ve been collecting items for awhile and now it’s time to sit down and do it. I am soon to be 72, I do have memory issues so I have to save all your wonderful ideas. I just found this one today which is wonderful. So many ideas and I’m excited to start. I live in Southern Georgia, we don’t have all different kinds of hummingbirds but since we have 37 acres I’m hoping to attract them more than 2 or 3 at a time. I’m continuing to look up your videos to help me. Thank you so very much.

Here is something for you,...I enjoy your gardening and hummingbird video's,...have you made a swing for the hummingbirds,...take a piece of baying wire about 12 inches long and make a hoop on on end and on the other end make a 90degree bend about 2 inches long and you have a swing for the hummingbirds,...we have one and one hummingbird has been swinging on it for two years,...the same one seems to swing on it,...my wife calls him squeaky,...it is so much fun watching him set on the swing and swing back in forth,...we enjoy him so much,...and we are trying the fountains for the hummingbirds that you have been showing,...thank you so much

I love birds too, and several years ago I came up with the idea to make a birdbath for them. I’d actually found a large terracotta like drainage “Pipe,” on the property, which btw can be purchased at the homeowner, supply store. I dug out a hole to soften the ground up, set it down in it then firmed the soil down and around it, making it stable. Next I used an aluminum garbage can lid, turning it upside down, placed a rock inside next to the edge. Some days I have seen 6,7, birds in it just having a blast bathing and chattering away like a group of teenage girls. I place cool, clean water in it every day. I clean it one every other day because yes, they will go to the bathroom in it. It’s so relaxing and sometimes funny watching them. 🪶🦜🕊🪶🦜🕊🪶🦜🕊🪶🦜🕊🪶

I just discover your channel. So much helpful information on fountains! I’ve been an advocate of providing running water to bring birds to your yard, but I’ve been limited by proximity to an outlet. I’ve tried solar but had problems - too much shade at my wooded lot and small spray holes clogging up. Your elevated solar panels may help with my shade issues and your tip in another video about enlarging spray holes will probably solve my clogging issues. Thank you! Love your enthusiasm too :-)

The missus was asking me about installing fountains in the 2 new bird baths that we just picked up .. I had to tell her "No, we're just going to put some rocks in these, so the bees can get water, too" .. but We really do need some more water sources for our wildlife .. I just had to prioritize! Pretty goldfinch you caught on camera @2:00 .. I want to see more of them in our yard :) The Blue jays that we have visiting are Northeastern Blue jays (little crests on the head) .. I have a love/hate relationship with them - they are so territorial that they can chase off other species, so the bird houses that I'm building are too small to accommodate them .. but they are one of a handful of species that will actually control the grasshopper population, so I don't want to ostracize them completely. There is a LOT of ground to cover on this topic, and a lot of discussion we can all get into - attracting wildlife, how, and WHY we want certain species to be in our gardens. Ok, I'm a grown man, gushing .. I need to stop ;)

Your ideas are great! I met your channel because hummingbirds, but since a while I search for ideas for something (like how to attract birds) youtube redirects me here :D . My mom always had a dish in her garden where the birds can drink and wash themselves, but now her moves the dish to her front yard and them don't drink so much there. I think in those fountains, they are pretty and it seems the moving water attracts more the birds (and maybe our puppy don't drink there, that was the main reason of moving the dish). Your channel is super! Thanks for share all your project with us!! regards from chile!

If you're going to "buy USA" where do you think the panels are made? Typically China. I bought a solar fountain for about $15 two summers ago and I love it. The first season it worked GREAT out of the box. Suddenly one day I came home and it wasn't pumping the water. I thought it busted. I took it out and then tried it again 2 days later and it worked again. So please if you get one, and it works and then suddenly stops, please check it to make sure the pump isn't clogged and whatnot and try a different day. I have mine in a terra cotta fountain that I built last year. I put a few rocks around it to keep it centered AND do NOT apply the spigots so that it doesn't fly up and out of the bowl with a bit of wind. I have to fill it up at least once a day on hot sunny days. I have bought a solar one that is just the submersible pump and the solar part will be on the ground. Awaiting my shipment. :)
