From seed I planted Emerald Giant Bell Peppers in October and they are producing like crazy! The other day I counted about 16 !! but more are developing. I'm so excited! I do only container gardening and I'm also in So. Calif. (hardiness zone 10).

Take the fig leaf gourd seeds and dry them. Grind them up in a coffee grinder, food processor or whatever you can grind them into a powder . Then add to compost . Worms love it.

Hi you two . Robbie I bought 3 stainless steel hoses they are wonderful. Also, I have a yellow interment tomato that is also doing great. The support broke, it measures about 4x8 spread out and really dense in leaves has a bunch of 2” green tomatoes, I’ve covered with frost cloth raised up over it knowing our frost will eventually come here in north San Diego county. Yes we do seem to be having extended growing time. I’ve picked over 65 chayotes from one plant still have more to pick and usually plant has died off by now😊

Your rabbit wire is a good idea, but remember that rodents can climb up and over even as high as you’ve placed it. I’d go all the way up and across for 100% rodent free cages. 😊

@ I'm in central California above Bakersfield. Stuck in an apartment but I'm not allowed to grow produce, just houseplants😞. My sister has given me permission to use her small 8x4 bed she has never used, so I can grow some food again. It's killing me not to! I've tried window veggie/herb garden, but they installed new low E windows that block necessary UV rays. My beets are doing well inside, but have to keep the window open all day for unblocked UV rays. Soon I'll be cleaning out cat droppings and rinsing the soil, amending it and then seeing what I can grow with a cover and hoops to keep the cats out. 👍🏼 love your ideas for container gardening.

Hi Robbie. Are you going to be switching out the tarp to the kennel to get let in more light? I started my pepper seeds indoors today. Lemon drop, Ajarvaski, Scotch bonnet, habananda, yellow monster bell peppers. A couple flowers, gazania and verbena.

Not sure yet, but since it is placed in a very sunny location, for now I plan on leaving it, as it can be switched at any time. It might be good for the hot summer to have that shade. Peppers are a great choice to start now in the house, as they can grow for over 6 indoors 😊 sounds great! Thanks

Mice ate holes all thru my fabric pots so no more grow bags for me. Got close to 200 totes plus other containers on my 5 acres. Dang bind weed. The herb garden went wild on me everything reseeded and took over, herbs and weeds.
