Mantis shrimp are one of my fav animals. There are 2 general types, they one you caught had the hard numbs and shatters crabs shells to feed on. The others have a spear and spear fish. The one you caught can hit so fast that it separates water with a shock wave and crest sparks in the air pocket. They are incredible.

well done Robbie, one time i went fishing up near Coffs Harbour, we were pulling 45 centimetre flat heads up 2 at a time, we fed 3 families dinner for a week with the fish we caught, it was weird because we had a radio on board and we could hear the other boats talking to each other, all of them were saying how they were catching nothing, my brother, father and i couldnt pull them up quick enough, anyway, it turned out that we had apparently drifted in to a national park or something like that where fishing was prohibited, and thats why the fishing was so good, felt a little guilty when i found out, but, all that lovely tasting fish helped me get over it.
