Lightning collection definitely has some issues with the pegs on the hands, and the tightness in the neck joint, but considering how realistic the costume looks, and the quality you get here for the price you pay compared to figuarts, I've got to say I'm definitely sticking with lightning collection.

but how do bandai figure-rise model kits scale with them? if bandai makes a jiraiya (space sheriff skyfire) or gavan (captain chaku) and even a kamen rider black rx (masked rider) they'd scale decently in a collection.

Geek Level Asian tips and trick, use hot water for wretched join basically, for new hasbro figures, they will work nicely after that, there is time when you like the durable figure over the one easy removable And hasbro actually have more realistic body size and helmet than shf and bandai one. Period !

@@ThunderNerve I'll have to try that with the joints. I think the helmets on the SH Figuarts are wayyyy more accurate especially the red ranger. That helmet is not great. Check out my gold ranger red ranger two pack, I compare the SHF in that. I do think the citizen Hasbro Heads are way better than the Figuarts. But I also like the SHF bodies because they look more like the Sentai Actors. But to your point, the White Lightning definitely looks more like JDF in a white spandex suit because he's more muscular.

I think Hasbro is trying to emulate the SH Figuarts in terms of packaging but trying to do an american style figure there were a few things i liked from watching the vid like how the Lightning figure had thigh rotation compared to the figuart,more accurate likness to jdf and the action poses looked good but i just prefer the SHF clean look overall and i think it offers more in the box than the Lightning.

Joseph Lee yeah the thigh rotation is actually crucial for balancing the figure. It’s easier to stand the lightning figure! But yeah SH Figuarts are just so slick. The plastic seems nicer:)

Bending those Mattel Barbie legs always reminded me of cracking knuckles lol. I don't like either of the face sculpts for him. JDF has a very particular look. I haven't seen any figure really nail it yet. I was honestly really disappointed in the S. H. Figuarts because I thought for sure them, of all people, would be able to figure it out. In fact, the Figuarts one almost looks more like his brother, oddly enough! The Hasbro gold kinda resembles the TV suit more, to me. The Figuarts is almost too bright. But I love the pearlescence on the Figuarts one. That's niiice.

Good points! I bought the green when it came out and it was closer to his younger look but still not amaaaazing. I just bought a ton of DBZ figures so I may do a video on them next.

Ernie P That doesn’t have to do with anything. Tamashii Nation is a Japanese toy company. They made figuart figures of the Japanese sentai show but that line has been discontinued. Bluefin was the overseas distributor & they got the rights to release the sentai figures but in power ranger packaging to make it more marketable.. But since Tamashii stopped the sentai line Bluefin had to also stop their power ranger line. This all happened a year before Hasbro acquired the rights to the brand.

I bought the lightning collection first ..... I thought I was good with LC White Ranger but the inconsistencies with the paint really made me give up on it (i'm kinda OC). so.... I ordered the SH Figuarts White Ranger hahahaha. But I must say I like the proportions of the LC over the SH since it fits the JDF proportions. The SH captured the Kiba Ranger proportions that's why the JDF head really looks off on it.

The Figuarts are way too thin for my liking, it's nice to get a Power Ranger that is not roided out or super skinny. The Lighting collection is perfect for me, especially for $20.

I’m guessing you’ve never had a Marvel Legends figure before. They have them tight ratchet joints. They’re made for more rough play but nevertheless fantastic figures by Hasbro. This is a really awesome review though. Thank you for showing them side by side. I’m definitely leaning towards the Lightning Collection. They don’t have the articulation of a $60 figure but man does it look good.

Jerwin Lucinario yes you’re correct! I don’t personally own and Marvel Legends but a friend of mine also told me that they’re made to be sturdy. And thank you I’m glad that you like the comparison!

I actually like that the Lightning Collection doesn’t have the metallic-ish sheen. The PR suits don’t have that sheen in the US made footage, so a figure representing that shouldn’t have it. I’m sure that’s not why Hasbro didn’t do the sheen, but regardless of their reason, I like that it doesn’t. I’m also not a fan of how Figuarts cuts the cuff for the elbow joints. The Hasbro joints also blend better into the body which looks more pleasing when posed neutrally. Especially considering that Lightning Collection figures cost about 1/3 the price of SH Figuarts, they’re phenomenal figures.

Lightning looks like it's a better mold...but it's got the same big issue I have with a lot of modern American toys. Hasbro puts so much effort into designing the mold, but then apparently hires a bunch of blind, drunken chimpanzees to apply paint apps. What's that deal, Hasbro?

I think Hasbro wins for sure. No matter how great the SH Figures are, the price different is huge between the two. Hasbro is $20 and SH is $80. The SH has better QC and paint app, but not significant enough to worth the extra $60 for this figure. So I think Hasbro is the winner.

The White Ranger Lighting Collection figure is the best one Hasbro made. They've consistently gotten worse with each new figure. Did you do a comparison with the red rangers? That's a night and day win for Figuarts. This is the closest in my opinion.
