Red Dead Redemption 2 is a 2018 action-adventure game developed and published by Rockstar Games. The game is the third entry in the Red Dead series and a prequel to the 2010 game Red Dead Redemption. The story is set in a fictionalized representation of the United States in 1899 and follows the exploits of outlaw Arthur Morgan, a member of the Van der Linde gang, who must deal with the decline of the Wild West whilst attempting to survive against government forces, rival gangs, and other adversaries. The game is presented through first- and third-person perspectives, and the player may freely roam in its interactive open world. Gameplay elements include shootouts, robberies, hunting, horseback riding, interacting with non-player characters, and maintaining the character's honor rating through moral choices and deeds. A bounty system governs the response of law enforcement and bounty hunters to crimes committed by the player.

This game is meant to be played slowly. Don't let people rush you into finishing it too quickly. There is so much to see in this game. In fact there are a couple of camp interactions you have had which I never seen in my playthrough, and I took ages to finish the game.

30% progress seems very misleading, you're closer to like 10-12% done with the story AT MOST, seriously. Like another guy said, this is practically still the tutorial. If you really want to do the majority of side quests etc I'd say you're probably closer to 5% done time-wise... The series could end up being 70+ parts at this pace, but we're all here for it! And we love it. You're playing your first playthrough in the way that everyone else wished they had done. You'll have a very strong connection to the characters once things start to ramp up.

Always such a chill time watching these RDR2 walkthroughs . It may take you longer to finish but that's perfectly okay better to slowly soak in all the game has to offer than rushing through it and missing out on all the different quests

I know everyone else has already told you this a million times but take your time, enjoy the little things, sit around & listen to that conversation, go out of your way to do that stranger mission, 99% of people who're watching these videos know how much this game has to offer & are hoping you'll encounter all of it. Sure, there are some conversations/missions/etc... that aren't all that important & don't add a great deal to the overall story, but other conversations/missions/encounters/etc... add huge, huge amounts to the overall experience.

Definitely try to do the side missions with the camp members as soon as you can before doing a main mission or going to sleep. They can disappear if it’s not at the right time or if that gang members is setting up another mission. They also let you learn more about the characters and spend more time together outside of main missions.

Awesome to see you back! There has been a lot of youtubers to do playthroughs of RDR2 but you are the first I'm committed to watching from start to finish. I meant to write this last night but my internet decided to take it's own vacation with about 15mins left in your video. Trust me you still have A LOT to see and do in this game. I've done 5 playthroughs myself and still finding new stuff. Hell you've had certain camp conversations that I've still not had. That's how diverse this game really is. And it's only going to get bigger. And as a hardcore fan of the first Red Dead Redemption, if you ever decide to play that one, you have a gigantic story still waiting to unfold in front of you. So take your time and enjoy it. Chapter 2 is still only getting your feet wet. I would suggest buying the leather tools from the ledger for Perason and unlocking the fast travel. That'll definitely save you some time on those long trips as you progress through the game. And with fishing I might suggest going into settings and changing the reel system to square instead of using the joystick. Less annoying when you catch a big fish.

Just a tip : you always want to study plants , animals , locations etc . Especially before killing an animal , look through your binoculars to study it or get close enough to study it with your weapon . Also make sure they are in perfect condition to kill if you want to take it back to camp or trapper .

If you kill an animal it studies it when you skin/ pick it up

Binoculars are your best friend other than your rifle and horse. It's the holy trinity of RDR2, really. I'm always scouting, riding, and shooting.

Also, if you want to carry more than one large animal back to the camp, you can rustle a wild horse, break it in, then it will follow you around once you get back on your own horse. That way, you can technically have two horses at once! 🙂

I love that you take very good care of your horse. I personally take the time between missions to pet them and brush them and feed them. It actually builds your horse's bond and with every level of trust you unlock new useful abilities when riding your horse

Hi Cam, if you return to the fence and sell your gold bar, you can buy Pearson the Leather crafting tools out of the Ledger ( needed for crafting satchels and camp upgrades ). Also return to gunsmith and add a scope to your repeater and varmint rifle ( activate while aiming and pressing the down directional button ), these will help with some distance hunting. The gunsmith also sells Holster and Gun belt upgrades ( less deterioration of gun and carry more ammo ). 1 and 2 star animals are good for food and a little cash, 3 star are good for crafting with Pearson and the Trapper. Another tip when looting, close all cabinets, drawers and chest's. Your chance of loot re-spawning is much better. The Trapper can craft you saddles with better stat's. A hint for the plant Javier wants, search around Lagras. ( only giving hint cause you been there ). Cooking Big Game meat with certain herbs will give you Fortified Cores. Treasure hunting can be very profit-able ( i have given you a hint to start The Jack Hall gang treasure hunt in a previous video ). The story will not take you back up the mountains where Flaco is. Also go explore the west side of the map past Strawberry ( Arthur's story does not take you there ).

Great episode! If you want, return to Chez Porter, the place where you robbed the homestead with Javier, because there’s a loot box in the upper part of the barn with a good stash of cash there. And now you have to manually tag targets in dead eye using the R1(right bumper) button so you can more accurately get headshots.

Great play through, I’ve been enjoying them quite a bit. During your travels remember to keep a lookout for plants and herbs. You can use them to craft helpful tonics that can use instead of always using your food. Herbs like mint, oregano and thyme can be combined with big game meat (wolves, alligators, bears, etc.) to fortify you cores (health, stamina, deadeye). You can also buy these tonics from the general store and the doctors office. Last thing, your cores can be increased to level eight. The higher your health core the more damage you can take, higher stamina means you won’t tire so easily or quickly, and of course higher deadeye extends your time.

When you are out riding around, you can set up a camp with a small tent and campfire. You can cook meat at the fire which is a great food source.

I don't know if it's actually a thing, but in my experience, it's very rare to find a 3 star animal when you startle it on horseback. You are more likely to find them on foot or spot them from far away. Also, unless you need it for a specific crafting recipe, keeping the whole carcass is redundant and takes up space on your horse that you could use for bigger game or those random people you tie up (lol), while still stowing multiple pelts on it. It's better to just skin everything for the pelts and meat. Thanks for the extra long episode, and enjoy your summer break!

You’ve got so so much more to do and discover. The larger satchells would be helpful for you to get crafted but it’s a lot of hunting to get them all collected. You would soon brush up on your skills whilst trying to achieve it.

You should have had a Springfield rifle long, long ago. It's a one-shot kill on a pretty big array of large game animals from deer to alligators to grizzly bears. It's also probably a good time to start collecting pelts for Pearson to make you some neat-o satchels. Once they've all been crafted, you can have Pearson craft a "super satchel" that holds a ludicrous number of items. It's definitely worth the effort.

Glad to see another vid! You should go into your satchel and drink any/all Valerian Root, Pirate Rum and Ginseng Elixir you have. They are one time use items that permanently level up your deadeye, health and stamina. Also, don't sell anything to the Fence that says it can be used in crafting. You'll need them later if you want to craft trinkets/talismans. Anything that just says can be sold for cash you can sell as you won't need to save them for later (although you can also donate those to camp instead of selling them).

Hi Cam, been enjoying watching your playthrough, and looking forward to catching up with this one tomorrow after work. The only advice I want to give you at the moment is if you haven't room for any more food you can pick up, eat something you already have and then replace it with the newer item, it'll help keep your weight up. Drink any ginseng elixir and valerian root, it gives you more dead eye and health points, and keep an eye on your weapon conditions, if you find gun oil, clean your most used weapon with one and then replace that one, same idea with the food/drink. You are a pretty decent shot too, but upgrading your weapons will make you even deadlier. Take care 🙂

Taking back the full animal to donate to Pierce is fine. This is a good way to feed the camp. But when you "skin" the animal instead it puts the meat in your inventory and puts just the pelt on the back of your horse. You can pile up multiple pelts this way because they are flat. Then you can donate or sell them later.

After skinning an animal, you can still donate the carcass. Arthur only takes a small amount of meat.

Love your play through. Tip: always skin 3 star pelts when you give them to Pearson or the trapper. Donating the full unskinned carcass will not give them the materials they need to craft things.

11:54: Charles is, by far, the noblest, most sensible and caring member of the camp. I was so happy whenever I got the chance to ride alongside him. He was so practical and dependable also. 30:00: indeed, crazy timing! Being honorable pays off. 41:15: first time I see a character expressing doubts and fear that early. The bow with improved arrows is the best way to take down any large animal even a moose. One shot to the head gives clean kill every time. Improved arrows are easy to craft at camp all you need is flight feathers that come from any flying bird you skin. You may need to read the recipe pamphlets in your satchel before you can make them.

Hi Cam, loving these RDR2 videos. Just a little tip: you can deposit rings, watches etc. etc. in the camp box they will automatically be transferred into camp funds. That way you don't have to use you own money or go to a fence all the time. Typing this just after your visit to the fence, so forgive me if you find out later 😇

You can ride mules and donkeys, but you can’t keep them. another thing most don't know, in Valentine and Blackwater in the workers camp there is a pot of stew you can eat from.

Just so you know. Any carcass, pelt or hide on your horse can be sold directly to any vendor, Pearson or the Trapper. In camp the horse just needs to be next to the hitching posts (it doesnt even need to be hitched) and for the others you just need to have your horse close by. You dont need to carry them through camp and hold them as you sell as long as it is stowed on your horse

Me Too!!! 😂 I was struggling to stealth the wagon out of there and it was a whole riot! She made it look easy! I saw 2 other play throughs where one of them went and did something else between talking to John and getting the wagon so John ended up getting the wagon for her and then the other she took too (went into Valentine for something else) so it was an easier grab because their was a wagon in town for her to steal instead of having to do it at the refinery. So interesting how we all get almost a different version of the story.

Hey Cam. Pro tip: Switch your Ammo Type to Express Ammo. Right on d-pad when wheels open. Hits Alot harder and you won't regret it. Also drink the Ginseng Elixir, Valerian Root, Aged Pirate Rum as soon you get them for permanent XP buffs to health, stamina or Dead eye. Can drink from the wheel or satchel. Loving the playthrough can't wait to see more😊

There's a very useful talisman you can have crafted that will make getting all the 3-star pelts you're gonna need a lot easier. You don't have the ingredients you need, but you already have the item that will tell you where to find what you need. I'm deliberately being cryptic to just give you a little nudge without revealing too much.

There is a chest upstairs in the barn at chez Porter you missed. There is some cash in it. You can go back when you're exploring Highly recommend you work on upgrading satchels so you get the legend of the east satchel , you can carry a lot more of everything

if u like investigating i recommend to check the map while riding, there are a lot of single houses nearby the roads indicated by a little square on the map. they mostly worth investigating. some of them cant be entered but the most contains loot and some very cool surprises.

Don’t know if anyone pointed this out but most weapons off dead guys aren’t worth keeping - especially if marked “worn”.. (just compare stats) there’s only a few extremely rare cases and those will literally be marked “rare”

Very good gameplay! Enjoyed it. You can always ride next to a wagon and jump on it. Then just kick out the driver, he will survive. Then ride to Emerald ranch and barn door( the one you tried push)opens for you to deliver the coach. Easy money..think it was 15-40$ each delivery. I gained several hundreds dollar in just 1-2 hours

You should get used to using Eagle Eye and Dead Eye more. It makes the game so much easier. Eagle Eye saves time when searching and Dead Eye saves so much time in gunfights.

Don’t know if anyone has said this yet but TIP: if you aim your weapon while driving a wagon on the road the wagon will be on autopilot and you don’t have to steer or press the button to keep going.
