First time I saw him fingerpick and play acoustic guitar. He’s just a naturally brilliant performer. I can’t imagine how good he’ll be in 5-10 yrs.

Jose Luis Ruiz -in my humble opinion, I think it one of the best debut albums I have ever listened to. The last time I said that was when I heard Pearl Jam’s first album, back when it first came out.

I saw him live at The MInt in Los Angeles in October 2018! Mind-blowing, surreal set. The guy is shy off stage but has such a stage presence. Twenty years old with a body that is filled with soul from the bottom of his feet to the top of his head.

We were on this LRBC #29 trip. Kingfish came out dressed in a stylish black outfit and dress shoes. Not too long into this set you could tell his feet were hurting him. He kicked off those shoes, then the chair came out. But, he never missed a lick. He astounded everyone on that cruise. Buddy Guy came out right after this set and all he could say was, 'Who was that kid? Did y'all hear that? Can we get him back out on stage?' Sorry, Buddy! Too late. Christone was outta there, in some pain. A couple years later and we have Christone's CD in hand. He's touring with Buddy Guy, who produced the CD. So, all is well between these two.

He said in an interview not too long ago( 2018), that this move to less is more is his evolution as a guitarist. He not going be playing everything, squeezing in a many notes in a minute just because he can. He’s moving to substance and soulfulness. I think he’s great no matter what he plays, but I also like the slower more lyrical style. Kingfish rules.
