While I understand the view point about mad Mondays being a private event just kept in mind sport isn’t the only industry that has guidelines within work contacts. I work for a financial institution in a mid level position. Our end of year functions and social media can get us into a bucketload of shit. People have received warnings due to behavior. I think what makes it worst for sportspeople is media and sponsors plus kids who admire you. Also in 2024 we can’t be taking the piss out of DV and gender based violence and by all means it might be just jokes - but the people who take the piss out of it should maybe think it isn’t just the general public who hear and see that but that women and kids in their lives. We now live in a world that people know this shit does happen and we aren’t in the 80’s anymore where we can make jokes and pretend it is just behind closed doors. Some of what was made fun of probably would upset their spouses, kids and their female colleagues in the AFLW. Do love your insight into it and appreciate was likely lighthearted, just picked shit subject matter. Also if anyone reads on the Hayne that was pretty horrid situation that wasn’t a once off.

Great reply. One of the questions I had was where was the event held? IF (big if) it was at a venue you have hired staff that are outside of the club, it really isn't private. Then I thought after I had listened to the pod, at the start Robbo and Matho were wondering why so many good players left GWS, maybe it is a culture thing. They know that other players aren't all in, or just want to get out of the place because they don't feel comfortable there.
