I am head over heels in love with Nina, but I want to give some love for Rob Brydon, arguably one of the Great Interviewers. Interesting, engaged and hilarious. Fantastic episode.

I love the bit where Nina Conti is genuinely amazed and eager to learn. Not just because it means Nina is always eager to learn, but because imagine having Nina looking to learn from you.

Perhaps the most talented woman in Britain. She is so good, I would like to claim she is Scottish, but since she was born in Hampstead I can’t. A wonderful talent, we are lucky to have her.

Of course you can. Cliff Richard was born in India, he's still English! She has Scottish parents, therefore, she is a Scot.

One of the best things I have ever seen her create was a series of short videos where she goes to therapy.........and, of course, it all unravels. I say 'best' because I am convinced that there are points during the series where she genuinely does not how unhinged she is going to go.

I love that Nina mentioned the ventriloquist class telling her to do the voice by tensing like she's lifting a weight. I was deadlifting one day and counting my reps and accidentally did "small man in a box" voice. I couldn't reproduce it without the weight though.

And welcome to the Brydon Weekend Workshop with this Saturday's guest tutor: Nina Conti. (if you could pay at the table as you enter, biscuits & beverages available at intermission) Moments of theatrical ptsd. I did my physical theatre training with Ira Seidenstein, an American Paris-trained acrobat and clown mostly based in Australia. And for all the things I have ever done, I don't believe I have ever worked harder than Ira's workshopped "Pericles", for the Queensland Shakespeare Ensemble. Wonder and terror in equal measure. ❤

Very very enjoyable...BUT...do I understand that there is a "longer version" of the "podcast""? I have learnt that I cannot "listen" to things I can't see. Or at least not very well. Why on earth arn't there "talking heads" for all podcasts? Not enough bandwidth in the universe?

The stuff Nina Conti does with the masks is okay and clever, but isn’t the monkey business more revealing/intriguing and, of course, funny/edgy/new. Then there’s Adam Mediggo. Outstanding. Best of all, the daft stuff, with Minnow and Monkey. Having a bad day? just reach out for that and the sun will come out.

Why have a guest when all Rob wants to do is talk about himself? Why do you talk show people do this? They have on guests that they talk over and talk about themselves. Just have the Rob Brydon show and be yourself and talk only about yourself.
