That’s because Robby strength is when he trains. He catalogs the martial arts he’s learned from Miyagi do, Cobra Kai, and Eagle Fang Karate. Then applies it when fighting, but he switches styles during combat to counteract his opponent keeping them (1 or multiple) at a distance then uses the complete opposite technique of the three martial arts to use on the attack. He catalogs without even a thinking about it. It’s strategy on the move. It’s brilliant for a character strength for a show like this. The question is “is it a marysue trait?” No not really simply cause some people actually have this ability.

This fight also really showed Robby's battle iq when he's finally focused. Robby didn't just aim to win, but to exploit Kwon's weaknesses, which mainly his arrogance. Robby could've won earlier but instead was just bullying Kwon in the entire fight, making him even more pissed. Went from disrespect to hatred in just a few seconds. Robby is really good at getting the best out of others' strengths and weaknesses when he can.

However, since the reason to enter was to try to deny Cobra Kai of their spot and neutralize the influence of evil teachers, Miyagi likely would have seen going to the Sekai Taikai as honoring a commitment, regardless of why the commitment was made. After all, he did say, "Fighting not good. But when must fight: win." Even Mr. Miyagi understood that context matters.

I called it, Robby is clearly the best fighter out of all of the next gen Miyagi Do and Cobra Kai Students. BEST DEFENSE AND UNPREDICTABLE OFFENSE. Without any distractions he clears, hands down. Note, every fight he's won in the series was when he was totally focused in. The only fight where he lost with no distractions is the very first tournament match with Miguel ages ago, but he was totally new to martial arts then. He literally only loses to those who have more experience than him, like Axel.

Miguel is pure Cobra Kai master with Miyagi Do tricks to counter Cobra Kai's weakness which make him 100% his own way. Robby is pure blend of Miyagi Do and Cobra Kai 50-50 which makes him 100% his own way. It goes deep to their character. Miguel considers only Johnny as his father and of course he would become more like Johnny but a better version. While Robby considers both Johnny and Daniel as father figures and accepts both of their flaws and strengths and thus becomes a version blend of both.

Its been a long time, that I get goosebumps over a scene and scream at my television for a fight scene, but how they builded up Robbies Frustration after getting played was awesome. Too bad they won't have a rematch, but I really think this moment was so personal for Keen, he actually carried more rage & anger in his heart, than Kwon did have hate in his. To reproduce that in a rematch, after things with Tory became better, fighting back to back in the Sekai Takai Dojo Brawl, would be too hard. Robby always needs a dramatic moment to get at his peak level. Like when becoming Captain. He got pummeled like a sucker by Diaz , before Tory showed up. Then he gets up & makes 3 consecutive Points in a Row. I wonder if he'd be able to handle Axel, but well if Tory beats Sam, he will give his best to fulfill his promise to her. And its actually the last chance to get on a promising Life Path. Tbh Miguel can go to college anyway, when he is just on the winning team. Robby needs a ticket out of the gutter, as a felon who hustled as a teenage Con Artist for paying his addict mothers morgage & last but not least, needs to win a Tournament, for overcoming the fate of coming in second. Miguel is great, but he is smart & can figure out a legit way to pay college tuition. Robby would just become a slightly better version of Johnny, when he wasplaqued by self doubts. Both deserve it, but not both can afford to lose.

This has to be the best ever tournament in all of KK/Cobra Kai this fight was just something else I think it's mainly because of the perosnal rivarly between Robby and Kwon. Things are really kicking of this season CK is just an absolute masterpiece and it gets better in every season it never disapoints my gosh I cannot wait for February.

@@target9180 Axel isn't really even a villain. He's just mixed up with a less-than-savory crowd. Like Jonny Lawrence back in 1984, he was getting his ass beat by a sensei who sees winning as more important than the wellbeing of his students. Also, keep in mind that at this point, the Miyagi-Do students all had maybe 2 years of Karate experience while the Iron Dragon students likely all had several years of experience. Axel likely had a lot of that time be abusive exercises to numb the students to getting hit (much like how Johnny wanted his top students to punch everyone else in the face to train them not to flinch).

I'm glad they choreographed a nice detailed and cool fight for robby. Homie was taking L's left and right all season 😂😂 I liked the Kwon kid as a villain. The actor had the right attitude, and for any younger people who may not have seen it yet, in Karate Kid 2 (1988), Sensei Chozen was the villain and Kwon had a very similar attitude that Chozen had as a younger man. Also, that new tall Russian guy was pretty cool too.

Robby was finally laser focused. He had a mission that kept him from looking away, finally paying attention to the enemy in his way. To the point where Robby had minimum 3 open shots at Kwon that he didn't take. It wasn't enough to beat Kwon. He was sending a message that he is without a doubt the superior fighter. Yeah, you're gonna block my attacks, but I'm going to make sure it hurts every time you block. Essentially, Robby won because he was finally enjoying it. Every opportunity to prolong the battle and let Kwon think he had a chance was something to delight in.

What people seem to forget is that robby, similar to daniel, is a master at countering the cobra kai fighting style. His defence is imprenatrable when he's focused and can switch to offence at a moments notice. Something that miguel lacks. Miguel is physically superior to robby, being taller with longer limbs and has better offense thanks to being the most well trained in Johnny's style which also lends him to being better at fighting multiple opponents. Everyone likes to argue which of robby or miguel is stronger but it's well established that they're equals with different strengths. This lends to their performance being heavily based on their matchups. Robby struggled against axel because he relies on his defense to keep him in the fight while chipping away at his opponent's patience until they leave themselves open when he can switch to offensive and axel didn't allow this strategy to work. Miguel overwhelms his opponents with a creative but calculated offence that forces its way through conventional defence. I think this style is much better suited to fighting axel specifically
