I don't see it as "the idol play was unnecessary", I see it as "the Jaime and Lauren flip was unnecessary". Carolyn was going to play that idol regardless.

The Yam Yam be willing to let Carson go thing is overblown. He wasn’t willing to let Carson go. He told Carolyn don’t go too overboard trying to save Carson at the expense of herself being targeted. He doesn’t know Carolyn has an idol, so he only thinks Carson can be saved by pulling people to vote with them. He prioritized Carolyn’s safety over Carson. That’s a completely acceptable take if you’re likely going to lose a number anyway. Carolyn even says “we need Carson” and he immediately agrees, but reminds Carolyn that she has to remain chill and don’t go overboard. All of that is the correct take based on his information.

ooh that’s interesting bc i completely disagree (but also totally see ur pov). like there will be one offs w carson talking about how he’s working at a higher level than he’s showing to the other contestants but w yam yam we get like a “show don’t tell” (though obviously we get a lot of telling bc yam is an iconic confessional giver)

I thought Carolyn put Lauren because that's who Danny told her to vote for, then scratched it out and put Danny. Kind of as a subtle middle finger ha which is why he said poetic justice? Idk

Yes, I agree. I think Carolyn wrote Lauren’s name down as a dig to Danny. Once again, she is being underestimated. She knew exactly what she was doing.

Exactly what I was thinking. She did it to effectively say to Danny, “ok, I’m going to vote for who you said to….NOT!” She can explain this to Lauren. I think Lauren would get this, esp since Carolyn played the idol.

@@whywhowhatwhere idk if Danny will feel burned. He seems like someone to respect the move. Similar to how Zeke credited Sarah for wearing his jacket to every tribal after voting him out. Danny FTC won't be bitter
