Ethan is so likeable and fun Rob C: How you doin Jeff? Jeff: Do you even like me at all? lol My biggest take away from this: Jeff said they wont do edge for a while after this. Personally I'm happy about that, in general idm it as an occasional twist (Would prefer not to see it on 40 but still) I was just worried that it might become a permanent addition to survivor and I'm not sure I could have dealt with that.

I also think several others like Parvati also weren't willing to join without a safety net. Edge allowed for the big players to more easily agree as they can still win their way back into the game.

Wow! Jeff handled this really well. And to have a health scare like that and fear we could lose him sure made me appreciate what we have in him. I’m sure he’s put off by the fan-critics, but I do wish he’d consult with people like you who can kind of suss out the fan response because you engage with it so much. Glad to hear he still loves the show. That makes the occasional frustration about a theme or twist much easier to swallow and support.

WOW... yep ... The Wendell interview pretty much convinced me of what I was thinking after watching the first two episodes. His body language and voice changed when talking about the old schoolers. Like he was nervous about letting something slip. I think that the Yul/Sophie/Wendell/Nick alliance eventually does battle with the Rob/Parvati/Ethan alliance in some way. It might be the big post merge battle for power. Edit gives hints that Sandra could be a deciding factor of which side wins out. Right now Sandra and Rob seem to be destined to battle against each other but I wouldn't be shocked if they settled their problems and worked together. There is incentive for the big targets to work together.

I almost don't want to watch this because I'll start reading into their body language etc. Parvati seems very happy and just based on what she was saying it sounds like she's going far again. Wendell I think will do relatively well. Boston Rob seems pissed off whereas Amber is shining and Boston Rob makes a comment about hoping Amber doing well. Sandra seems down, partly because of her dog, but she's def going out quickly. Ethan is just always happy so hard to read

She's out of shape so not very helpful in the physical challenges but mostly she is a 2 time winner so if you let her slip to the end she will be very dangerous because I could definitely see a scenario where they would give it to her again

Amber and Ethan dated right after his and her original seasons aired. They actually attended the Survivor: Marquesas finale together, while Rob had competed on the season... yikes! So, they broke up, and both returned to play for All-Stars. Rob and Amber became a thing, and as the season unfolded you could even sense a little rivalry between Rob, her new budding romance, and Ethan, her ex, during the challenges. Rob and Ethan squared off in a few physical challenges, and Rob verbally teased Ethan a little. Rob even impersonated Ethan during their mock-Tribal Council on the beach. So yeah, there's a long history between those three. And, the fact that you have Cesterino doing the interview, who had a front row seat during All-Stars... and even impersonated Jeff Probst while Rob impersonated Ethan. Tbh, I think it's more from Rob than it is from Ethan. Ethan never seemed to care much, while Rob seemed to have a little jealousy and animosity. It doesn't surprise me. Rob is very much a guy's guy. And guy's guys often feel the need to show off their masculinity to the women they're romancing. This moment has a whole lot of OGs who have 17, 18, 19 years connections. Wild.

Two things from preseason I noticed: 1) Ethan unprompted praised Adam and Parvati lavishly in his Dalton Ross interview, then when Dalton asks him about his relationship with Rob Ethan is just like...'yeah I know Rob' lol. and 2) Adam says he went back and listened to old Survivor Oz interviews before coming out and his quote is 'I got the sense that there was maybe a little bit of love lost between Rob and Ethan. Ethan talked about all of the other early winners in such complimentary ways. He didn’t have much to say about Rob.'
