That thing had a mind of its own. I have to believe at some point in the till’s life, it tasted human blood and developed an appetite for human flesh. I wouldn't touch that till with someone else’s hands.

It’s sort of like a mini series within the series. The way Arkwright says ‘ geroff ‘ to the till, and Granville with hands hidden under his jumper. Classic timeless comedy from two actors who were best mates in real life.

The till was run from a stage person pulling on a rope. One day Ronnie actually did get his hand stuck with the person pulling, pulled a bit too soon.
