Ramirez became one of the youngest boxers in history to win an Olympic gold medal when he dominated the field at London 2012 at just 18-years-old. Although the result surprised many, Ramirez had been seen as a potential phenom in Cuba for many years, after achieving magnificent results at the junior and youth levels.
Victory in the 2010 AIBA Youth World Championships was followed by Youth Olympic Games gold, and he won his first Cuban National Championships a year later. Part of the excitement surrounding Cuba’s entry into WSB was down to fans keen to see Ramirez compete across a longer round format, and he did not disappoint in Season IV with two impressive victories.
After winning his second Cuban title in 2014, Ramirez has won three times in Season V, including a memorable semi-final triumph over Mexico’s Ivan Delgado. Still only 21-years-old, the Domadore is one of the most dazzling fighters to watch in WSB, especially when he uses his effortless combination punching to both the head and body
Amateur boxing record :
undefeated in WSB,
Youth olympic games, Singapour, 2010 - Gold medalist
AIBA Youth world amateur championships, Baku, 2010 - Gold medalist
Pan American, Guadalajara, 2011 - Gold Medalist
Olympic Games, 2012, Londres - Gold medalist

Ramirez´s best attribute, in my opinion, is his timing. it aint strength, speed, power, stamina, or even technique, its his timing that throws the opponent off. and that can take you very far in this business.

Wilfredo Gomez too. Robeisy lost,but he take the rematch and beat easy to that man. And the fight that he loss was a 4 round fight where he was knockdown and after that he was winning easy,but the fight finnish and he dont have time for beat the two pints that knockdown was. If the fight were 6,8 or 10 rounds he beat easy to that man as it was in the second fight.

not impressed.. he wins by way of volume.. most of his punches don't land.. he's mostly bravado and show...he will get his chin tested in the pros when they throw him to the wolves.

***** lol obviously u didn't watch the fight, he was given the fight of activity NOT effective punching he never hit shakur clean and was most missing by 1 inch and ate counters credit to shakurs defense in a pro fight he would have been systematically broken down by shakur but in this amateur fight he wasn't active enough. This fight was like a Keith thurman vs shawn porter fight but for u to say robiesy KO's shakur and he didn't even land clean punches shows who the real hater is.

did u even watch the video? in the first half, he was only 18 and fighting every other day against top competition. n later against the kasak boxer in the WSB he was landing 5-6 punches in a row, leading up with left uppercuts. uve obviously seen nothing of him n r simply hating. the two 2-time olympic champions in the pros (Rigondeaux and Lomachenko) are arguably #2 and 3 in the p4p list, and wipe the floor with the so called "pros". dont kid urself.
@b3at2
@b3at2 7 жыл бұрын
if he ever turns pro he needs a trainer that will ease him into the game and not throw him the ring with a heavy hitter..because this boy leaves his chin open a lot showing off with punches in bunches.. its an exciting style but somebody like floyd would eat him for breakfast. he needs to sharpen up.. he has enormous potential.. i see him in the same league as Andy garcia... clearly a one dimensional fighter..but has enough raw talent to get him far.
