This video is just breathtaking. Andy and Robert have the most complicated history of any other brothers on Emmerdale. Theirs is a love-hate relationship and there has been so much pain and suffering on both sides. But Robert's words at the end reflect everything they've been through which is why they'll always have a bond: "No matter what you do, no matter what I do, you're my brother." Ryan Hawley was new to the role of Robert Sugden in 2014 (taking over from Karl Davies) but he really captured the history and lifelong feud between the two brothers in his own unique way and he does so perfectly. His chemistry with Kelvin Fletcher is beyond words - they really pull you in with their performances and this video is a phenomenal tribute to their remarkable talents onscreen.

Robert was a brat, when he hit his teens I hated that kid watching Emmerdale growing up- everyone preferred Andy. Did not like him much since and the constant changing of actors playing Robert- come on Emmerdale.

all he did was piss on Andy and his family from a great height(Jack, Daz etc) that is what I remember from watching Robert back then- this is not Robert's history, it does not show selling his family out to the Cars

OMG. Can anyone with siblings not understand to some degree the relentless undercurrents of sibling rivalry. You want to hug Andy. You want to hug Robert. You want to ask Andy if he realizes he deposed a true heir who can't stop hurting. You want to ask Robert if he realizes why his father rebuked him and why almost everybody wants him gone. You keep hoping for change but their truces break with every mishap. And the problem is that those who love them, perhaps even including those at a distance, also end up getting the brunt of their unforgiveness towards their mistakes or the amoral callousness of their destiny. Inhumanemonster, once again your brilliance is showing.

Right, you've just made me cry with this video, I'm literally in tears. This has to be the most complex relationship in Emmerdale atm and you've really done it justice with this video. There's so much history between them, my god! There's betrayal, jealousy, resentment, hatred but underneath it all, there's also a deep love that can't go away no matter what. It's especially amazing how deeply Robert loves him and his family. After all, how many times has Robert either saved Andy's life or protected him from the police (even when he shot his dad and now when he tried to kill him)? And this is selfish Robert we're talking about, it's quite unsettling how he can't let go of Andy. And I love how well Kelvin and Ryan work together and how they manage to convey all that complexity. Brilliant video and I can't wait for more of the Sugdens from the show and then maybe from you? (hint hint nudge;))

But I agree completely with what you said about the brothers, and how Ryan and Kelvin portray it. I just find their whole relationship so interesting, and it helps that they like to break my heart with the sugden!bro feels every once in a while. (And I have some more ideas to vid these to, so hopefully I'll be making some more!)
