Such an humble gospel group. Years ago my mother had them Blair and Robert over for dinner. I do not remember where the others were.

In the words of the late great Mr. Robert Blair, "Good God Almighty from Zion!" I appreciate this upload. I've seen pieces of this concert, but I had never seen the interview at the end. I've always wondered about the background and history of the Violinaires, especially Mr. Blair. I really only knew the history from information put together by Mr. Opal Nations (opalnations.com/files/Violinaires_The_Fantastic_Violinaires_B_R_300_June_2015.pdf). I've always wondered about how Mr. Blair joined the group, and how he was received. I think we sometimes see groups (especially Gospel) and automatically assume that it's always smiles and sunshine, but in reality, they're people just like us. It is really something to learn how Mr. Blair ended up with the group. I've always enjoyed Mr. Blair's humor (just like the interviewer said, he had an excellent wit), and it was great listening to him and Li'l Shot talk about their start-up. I didn't even know that Rev. Charlie Brown wrote up their first song. We got some background on the name as well. I'd always heard that the name came from the group seeing a picture of a bass violin (I think). That may be true as well, but it's nice to hear it straight from an original member. I didn't even know that Dennis Edwards was a part of the group. The interviewer was great, and the interview was excellent. I'm glad that the interview delved into the background so much. He even hit on the wardrobe. Quite the history lesson for a powerful and important group. This interview could have gone on for so much longer, and I would have kept listening in. I've got so much to shout about! Again, the upload is appreciated. God Bless!
