Think that "back to feudalism" is indicative of the economic determinism of a 'Political Marxism' that can only ever imagine resort to "political" means for the distribution of surplus value as "extra-economic" and therefore resembling feudalism - and I know "economic determinism" is a much abused phrase, but appropriate here. I think it is a general characteristic of all social formations, regardless of dominant mode of production, including capitalism, to have resort to political determinations of the distribution of the surplus product, surplus value under capitalism. It is that under historical feudalism, "politics" was the *dominant* means of both the tributary extraction and distribution of surplus, and therefore synonymous with economic exploitation, and not "extra" to it. That, obviously, we can never go back to.

Shame the discussion was not recorded - it may have clarified matters somewhat.
