I have been following Robert and his music for years , he is my favorite blues man. I have seen him seven times and tomorrow will be number eight at the ridgefield playhouse in CT. I really love his early stuff like porch light phone booth and many others i miss the Memphis horns who played with him. time goes on and things change but Robert is always steady you can always count on him for a solid performance Robert is the blues and has played with all the greats god bless Robert Cray

Very neat arrangement with the band not drowning out the singer ... Robert has a very pleasing relaxed style .... Another great selection from our good friend "Bluesy Bee"

Few artists are better live than in the studio but I believe Mr. Cray has it down!! There's no one like him. Always consistent, voice is incredible, mastery of his guitar, just outstanding. Truly an exceptional performer.

You think this world belongs To you, my love That's where you're wrong I've always know that Consider yourself lucky You got the best of the deal How could you grow so cold And tell me that's how you feel? When this love is done When the new ones come Will you think of me? Will you think of me? One last big hug One last good cry One last kiss And then I'll say goodbye You won't get rid of my love With no damn headache pill Oh, the hurt might leave you, baby But I never will When this love is done When the new ones come Will you think of me? Yeah, will you think of me? As I walk out this door Something tells me you're gonna need me By that look in your eyes Ohhh, you gonna need me One day You think this world belongs To you, my love I know there's somethin' Making it hard to walk on To you it may look like nothing But to me it's a lot Ohh, when I leave It doesn't mean that the feeling's gonna stop When this love is done When the new ones come Will you think of me? Hey, will you think of me? Heyyyyyyyyy!!!!! I know you're gonna need my loving

Robert Cray is the total package and, for more than 25 years, one of my all-time faves, but I don't know how he picked this guy to replace Richard Cousins. His dynamics are all over the place, his tone has no bottom, and he's never in the pocket.

like eric clapton humbly says it...for the BLUES.. Robert Cray .the keeper of the flame .. imo the band members change and the new cd disappointing .. yeah i have seen all the drums Tony Braunagel has and heard his credentials..the self-important Richard Cousins ...IT'S EASY TO PLAY THE BLUES BUT IT'S HARD TO FEEL THEM!!! the former players..:Kevin Hayes and Karl Sevareid are sorely missed .. and Robert has begun dyeing his hair to appear/appeal to a target market..kinda sad he used to shine
@briankarl3112 жыл бұрын
I COMPLETELY DISAGREE, IMHO.....Richard Cousins is an original member, if he's good enough for Robert Cray, he should be for us. No reason to bash his "feel" he didn't write the songs Robert Cray did. Same thing with Toney, more than capable professional.I think your just over analyzing the albums and the rhythm section as whole. Just saying cut the guys some slack the newer albums are just good, hell Crays obviously becoming abetter songer writer as well, these guys don't hustle backwards!
