@PhuckHue2 actually throughout the song the voicing is altered between a 7, 9,13 and also sometimes a raised 6th sometimes added as well gives a dissonant voicing.

Hey man great job, I know you have probably been asked this loads of times but it would be great if you could tell me the chords, I'm not playing this on piano but rather guitar for a band i'm in right now and I'm finding it really difficult to transcribe and would really appreciate an outline of what they are. I appreciate you doing these tutorials, but I have to wonder: You're spending time and making an effort to create these vids, why not spend a few seconds calling out the chords? Doesn't exactly mean more work for you.. I mean, it's much easier for you to call out chords than it is for me to try to work out the chords by watching a video recorded from a not very optimal angle.
@BettyAlexandriaPride7 жыл бұрын
StingBear Ear training at its finest. :) I completely understand your stance, and there are videos/ channels that take this approach. However, some musicians - including myself- can become lazy to the point where they don't challenge themselves to work out parts and strengthen their ear training, or write out transcriptions we started months ago. This is just my opinion, but I watched this video as a musician who has already listened to and played both the original composition in a real book as well as the Glasper adaption. It already took him effort to put out this video, and he's willing to post the written chords if we ask, which is a bonus. So I can deal with a bad angle initially if it means I get to challenge myself while awaiting confirmation of the chords. Or, I can be lazy and keep searching for videos with the chords there for me. I digress, there are musicians who are not on the same level as myself. Some are world class, while others are just diving in to the wonderful world of music. For the later group, it is even more of a challenge because the theory isn't discussed in depth in this video, so a follow-up of concepts would be in place. I do know how you feel though. Sometimes, the videos I watch don't have the best sound quality (a reason why I put my videos on hold until I get better equipment) and the angles are horrible. Thank you, because now I have things to think about when I approach break down videos. :)

The video is a waste of time. The only thing the video accomplishes is that you know how to play Afro Blue. You should have told us what cords and keys to play so that we might kearn to play Afro Blue also.

I hate playing with keyboard players who dont know what chords they are playing. Keys should know basic theory. It is really hard for a guitar player to follow you. Another thing. An A major 7 with a b in the bass is an A major 9. Learn your theory. It's easy.
@mpntlkable10 жыл бұрын
An A major 7 with a B in the bass is called Bsus13. the name of the root note denotes the chord

A major 7 with a B in the bass is Bsus. As you rightly said "Learn your theory. It's easy" - apparently?!
