Jay Shetty Podcast

Күн бұрын

Robert Greene sits down with Jay Shetty to talk about our inner power. How we react to situations, the emotions we pour in, and the amount of control we have over our reactions defines how much power we have over ourselves. When you’re out of control and not in tune with your reality, you become toxic and this toxicity feeds your greed which eventually destroys that raw power within you.
Robert is the author of the New York Times bestsellers The 48 Laws of Power, The Art of Seduction, The 33 Strategies of War, The 50th Law, and Mastery. In his book, The Laws of Human Nature, he turns to the most important subject of all - understanding people’s drives and motivations, even when they are unconscious of them themselves.
Achieve success in every area of your life with Jay Shetty’s Genius Community. Join over 10,000 members taking their holistic well-being to the next level today, at shetty.cc/OnPurposeGenius

Hum I've been at close range to competitive people and toxic people and they think about everything in terms of 'winning', in those cases the best win is to be rid of them. As long as the win you want is on your own terms, to your own goals, that realy is winning. Winning does not mean achieveing a goal set up bu others to their benefit.

I was introduced to Robert Greene’s books by my oldest brother.. He let me have his 48 Laws of Power when they transferred him to another prison, he wasn’t going to be able to take his belongings so he sent me that book and a few others. Glad he sent it to me, the book is amazing. I’m still reading it, and then I bought the Laws of Human Nature. Looking forward to collect all his books. 🙏🏼

One of the reasons why people think "crush your enemy totally" law is evil is because they only see enemy in human form. Eg. Make laziness, poverty, etc your enemy then that law will have a different meaning.
@Deliriouseable

I would really love to consider that interpretation. However, if that is the real meaning of that law, why the example of applying the law that comes with it is a revenge story that refers to a person?

@@regaininglife9084 If you believe in crushing others and feel entitled to being greedy and evil, this book is perfect for you, go for it. That is a psychopathic point of view, just FYI, but be my guest. But don't justify yourself by saying "most people are like this too", because they are not. And even if they were, that wouldn't mean you had to act in the same way. Revenge (and every one of your actions) is a choice and describes you, not anybody else.

Check it out, make a test, educate yourself about psychopathy, you may find an explanation to a lot of your emotions and lack thereof.

I’m a fan of Robert Greene, He see human as they are. Not sugar coated and see the desire we have not as something dirty or embarrassing. I think you have to be really honest with yourself and acknowledge your true desire. Working towards them is what lead you to fulfilling life. His book could help us notice if we are being manipulated or used and also giving us the theory to do so. It depends on how you will use it. You could use the knowledge for something good and as he said most nastiest people actually don’t need his book about manipulation. They learn it naturally. Also good job to Jay. This is actually his first podcast I ever watched and I’m impressed at the quality of his questions. I think it’s one of the best podcast of Robert Greene I ever watched.

I never heard someone so intelligent as Robert. I have The 48 Laws of Power book but never read it yet! After hearing this video I'm gonna read it as well as Think Like a Monk which I also have. Thank you Robert and Jay for such an emotional video, for me I cried 😢 happy tears of course. I can't wait to see more videos with Robert ❤

I went to Amazon and bought his books. Thank you..these are the topics I am interested in, because I had been naive about true human nature (power politics) for a very long time...and had been scape goat on many occasions...now, all I am focused on is studying human psyche. Thank you 🙏

Hello Jay. This is the first time I am at your channel. I really admire Robert Greene and read 48 laws in 2000 before it became popular. He has always been somewhat of a 'mentor from a distance' to me. I just wanted to say, I've watched a lot of Robert Greene interviews in youtube and yours is by far the most insightful and coherent. I'm really enjoying how you are making connections and asking really piercing questions. You've got a new subscriber. Seriously I want to watch the interviews for your questions and how you piece things together, than their responses. Thanks for making such great content

Thanks a million for this video, Jay! I can’t wait to read Robert Greene’s next book “The Law of the Sublime”. Came to know about Robert because of this interview! I can’t get a copy of The 48 Laws of Power just yet but I know this book will be an asset. I love his energy and his teachings. May he be blessed with good health...I wouldn’t add wealth for money is never his goal~...which is probably the only idea I’m opposed to.

I’ve made an effort to incorporate the podcast on my daily lunch break walk and listen weather I feel like the subject applies to me or not. I’ve never been a fan of forced optimism and fake joy, and was looking for content that would give me spiritual and practical ways of living. Listening to your podcast Jay made my life richer, I reflect deeper on things and have better insight and understanding of events and people. I have a lot of favourite episodes, however the one that gave me the courage to write a review was the one with Robert Greene. I knew his work but listening to his views and reasoning behind the writing was a pure joy. Having the honour to hear you two dialogue is something that I am immensely grateful for. Thank you for all the work that you and your amazing team do for all of us who listen and follow you . Warmest regards, Farrah xox
