It all sounded so different and fresh back in those days. I still have 10 or so cassettes with techno on them I recorded from Studio Brussels and MTV in the mid- 90s. Magical days they were. God I'm old 😆

At 2.22 is just .......I don't know, impossible to put into words. The perfect fusion of acid with minimal with Detroit with funky bass with dark and dirty techno. Robert Hood is a UR god of producing.

That groove is from the Juno 2. It was sort of what I call the “grey area sound.” I had never heard a sound like that. I remember, I hooked up with King Britt and I was driving him around with no drivers license, just kind of showing him around Detroit, and we got stopped by the police. And the police just, the guy pulled me over. It was just rough, man. The police ended up just letting me go with no drivers license, no proof of insurance. And so I had King Britt over at my apartment listening to some tracks, and I remember him saying, “Wow, what you’re doing with this Juno 2 and all that - it’s just different. You got something good with this. This is your sound.” And so it became, this is my rhythm, “The Rhythm of Vision,” because “The Vision” is what I was called when I was with Underground Resistance. So, it just fit with that sample and that groove, it just all made sense.

I've always thought he was saying 'Bourguignonne'... I like to picture Robert Hood on a terrace in the South of France somewhere, eating the best food.

so badass. imagine you close your eyes while listening to this track at home then 1:11 hits and you open them and find yourself on the dancefloor in a dark club, high as a sequoia and it's either go apeshit or have your brain melt and flow out of your nostrils
