Article 98 obliges states to require all masters of a ship to help anyone in danger at sea, so long as it does not also cause serious danger to the rescuing ship. It requires vessels to: Assist anyone found in danger at sea; Proceed to rescue people in distress, if informed of their need for help and if this may reasonably be expected of the vessel; Assist and follow procedures in the event of a collision.

His ideas are fine. The problem is for far too long the left wing has had a stranglehold on the Civil Service and Starmer is increasing that stranglehold by appointing all his mates to the top jobs. The Civil Service will use every means possible, and indeed have done so again and again, to thwart, delay, impair any policies put forward by the Tories because they automatically disagree with it. On several occasions they have actually refused to work on a particular policy. These people should be thrown out the day the Tories get into Govt.

6:30 All that, and he still doesn't comprehend the deep issues with our immigration system. In our legal system you can't just send them back, not without the country agreeing to it or receiving payment. The US could, it's perfectly legal there (and safe) to stick them back on the airplane and off they go. But in the UK that would be illegal, the ports basically have to stick them in a centre where they never end up going back. We must uproot the laws that have been accumulated post-blair.
