In this clip, Robert “Kool” Bell spoke about Kool & The Gang finally getting their star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame but remained confused as to why the group hadn’t yet been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Robert also opened up about his brother and groupmate Ronald passing away and how it came as a shock to everyone close to him.
Later, Robert talked about what motivates him to continue making music and performing after such a long and storied career in the industry. He discussed some of the lessons he learned over the course of his career and what advice he’d give to aspiring artists looking to establish themselves in the industry.

The most sampled group can’t get inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 🤷🏾‍♂️. If they were white they would’ve been inducted 😂. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is in Cleveland, OH for those that don’t know. Cleveland isn’t a NY, LA, CHI, MIA, etc. caliber city. It’s a shithole. They should’ve been inducted. They’re BEYOND LEGENDARY 💯

@@ashtonwilliams5945 Daryl Hall (H&O) said something similar to this. For the longest time, they were turned down for the RRHOF induction. He stated because they are White and their music mostly appealed to Black audiences and radio was the reason. "The RRHOF is just political bulls**t, f**k'em," he said. Two years later in 2014, they were finally inducted, which was a shock to him. Hopefully, they will induct K&TG. It will be a damn shame if they don't.

This is why you need sincere fans to speak up for legendary groups like Kool & the Gang in a very "outside of Rock & Roll" Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. It's koo to play their songs, let it run in your playlist or hear it in your commercials, but the artist don't receive that reconition while they're alive, don't wait till it's too late. It's nice to see them get it but sad if it happens after their passing. They should see that glory while they're alive. Over a billion listens in a lifetime, get them in the R&R Hall of Fame. I'm gamed.

Well it's easy for somebody to say that who has most likely never have or never will do anything Grammy or Oscar worthy but when people have actually put in their work and are shunned it's not just a "white award" to them. It feels like a slap in the face.
