I´ve read that you can´t actually control the epiglottis directly. What is your take on that? Do yo control it indirectly via the root of the tongue?
@Thevocaliststudio10 ай бұрын
No, I do not believe the Epiglottis is actively controlled by singers. It is operated passively. But first you have to make sure you really know what the Epiglottis is and what it does. Things we can control would be tongue, embouchure, subtle larynx movements, and positioning of the resonance in the upper vocal tract, twang mode, cry mode, and the other physical modes. You can lear mor about this in my courses, www.TheVocalistStudio.com.

@@Thevocaliststudio Thank you very much for the reply. I think there also comes access to a forum where I can ask questions when I buy the program...?

Awesome!It seems like you really know your stuff. Just one quick question please: WHAT IS "Twanging"? You talk about it but don't describe it or demonstrate it in comparison to NOT twanging.(which is a very good teaching mechanism: comparative demonstration). As a beginner singer I want to know, not have all these terms assumed to be known. I searched specifically for this video, as it's titled "Vocal twang and Head voice Singing". I'll keep searching and learning, thank you so much. Does your course/book/program cater to beginners or only advanced (do we have to know everything already?).

Rob, this might sound like a ridiculous idea, but i think its worth mentioning, could TVS methods and Four Pillars ever be used to develop singing for Opera/Classical, and even bringing in TVS techniques into the world of classical singing and opera, i know opera has its roots in the old school italian traditions which still persevere today, but i was envisioning a new kind of twist on the opera and classical style, it might sound absurd but still i hope for the day when TVS meets Opera!!!

i'm confused. Whats the difference between Vocal Twang and CRY Mode?
@Thevocaliststudio2 жыл бұрын
Huge difference. Twang is more about vocal fold compression and cry mode is more about thinning the vocal folds to remove construction and pushing. More details are found inside my full course.

Hey Robert, just bought your program a couple of days ago, can't wait to get into it. Before I bought your program I was experimenting with this stuff myself and learned how to use compression (or twang) to connect head voice and chest voice (most of the time at least) also with quite good power in my head voice, however it only worked with the A vowel, didn't work with E for example. Now, this is something I've just been doing to a song if necessary and maybe when I'm home alone just because it sounds cool, not really trained it or warmed up before I've done it. And I am a little concerned that I might have caused some damage to my vocals. Sometimes when I sing extremly soft falsetto or headvoice notes it just comes out air, when before I could sing this. Also when I compress it feels like my voice becomes a little bit raspy after a while. Is this something I should be concerned about?
