He did just say that morality was evolutionarily driven. I don't believe evolution could functionally operate to a 1/1 success rate or by subjective means.

The end of the book and the paragraph about the epidemic was amazing.

On behavior, I have yet to read or catch wind of any literal work that bests this Herculean, far ranging, expert effort by Sapolsky. Within these pages, rests evident, a nuanced labor of love. It wasn’t always an easy read...neither are humans. Read it and spread the word.

Sapolsky sounds so much like Adam West. Only makes me adore him more.

Question I'll never get answered. If this new and improved insulor cortex is only in our brains.... How long actually would it have required to gain that function? I'd guess a few hundred thousand years at minimum. The longer this upgrade would have taken....the more likely other things would be missing at the time of the process starting. Abstraction of all types perhaps.... maybe even subjectivity itself and wouldn't that be strange if morality is evolutionarily rooted and older than subjectivity. That would be a very serious issue for the Postmodernist.

How are you defining subjectivity and morality? How do the experiences of subjectivity and morality within human adults relate to the experiences of subjectivity and morality within human children, apes, and other mammals?
