Some people know that Robert came from Croatia and his father was a hard working farmer before they emigrated to Canada. I remember an episode where Robert went back to the family farm. It was very emotional. As someone who came from such humble beginnings, Robert never forgets where he came from and the hardship that came with it. I think that it by far the one of his strongest qualities. He's walked the same miles in the same shoes as this family and for that Robert is such an admirable and inspirational business man.

Robert seems to have a gift of reading people. On a Shark Tank episode, an entrepreneur who had invented a portable vinyl player, came in asking for $300,000 in exchange for 20% of his business. Robert ended up offering $500,000 for the whole thing, in order to free up the inventor to go on to other projects. Robert sweetened the pot with an offer of two years employment with a six-figure salary, plus $5. royalty on every unit sold. The inventor really liked that deal. A small clip of the deal on youtube in entitled "Man sells his entire company on Shark Tank".

@james.sirois Жыл бұрын
As much as I like Kevin, I disagree with his comment that Robert offended the rules of capitalism, in fact it's the opposite. Robert makes profit on the loan but allows the wealth to remain in lower scales- the original capitalists strongly believed in reinvestment into the community or else capitalism can't be sustained. So Robert honours this fundamental rule of capitalism.

@_Y.Not_2 жыл бұрын
As an interesting twist this guy (near me) and a team of people invented a new machine for cleaning apples of any germs/bacteria/virus so they were clean/healthy before coating them in chocolate/caramel. Turns out the machine could also be used to clean N95 masks of virus during covid. Health Canada gave the gadget its stamp of approval and a production line accustomed to making one unit per week for farmers was making 15 per week with 75 orders (and counting) to fill from hospitals, long term care homes and even the Department of National Defence.
