A correction: Robert Schumann was born in 1810, not in 1819. Klara was born in 1819. Robert Schumann was [successfully] ever-exploring new combinations of instruments, like this Adagio & Variations. Happily, his experiments remained unique & absolutely wonderful. The two pianists play the piece as though they'd found this unexpected gem inside a trousseau in the attic, and still marvel at its twists & turns. This truly remarkable WoO [No.10] is sadly rarely played. Thanks to KZbin, WE get to enjoy it: and thanks to this enchanting ensemble as well.
