I thought it was just because he was becoming so popular from it that he was being given offers for different roles etc and wanted to branch out and try some new material. As for not getting the reference, it was in like 2009. That's like 11 years ago now. People can forget lmao.

@@joseignacioctm I dunno because I've seen a lot of behind the scenes of Misfits and he was always happy and chatty with the crew. Specially Lauren who played Kelly and the guy that played Simon. I do remember a more recent interview where he compares Nathan with Klaus and says actor wise he prefers Klaus because hes got a lot more to work with and is more changeable as it goes on. Where as in Robert's words Nathan was 'Bulletproof'. Like he kinda had his way of doing things and that was it. Like he had a bit of personal issues arise but he never really truly let anyone get in to find out and kept himself very much distant from the other Misfits and just played the clown. But I'd have to look deeper into the past and more present interviews to find him talking about Misfits more because I never remember him saying a bad thing about it at all. I hope I dont because I love Umbrella Academy but the first two seasons of Misfits I'll always love way more lmao. Probably nostalgia at this point. It was so London from the way they acted and spoke and just everything and it always reminded me of when I was younger since I was like 13 when it first came out. He did like being a part of Misfits for those two years, he's just fed up with constantly getting associated with Nathan. He's expressed many times that he wanted to avoid getting typecast as the inconsiderate funny guy. He was even thinking about rejecting Klaus' role because by just looking at the main aspects of the characters, they were too similar. Robert loves shaking things up, getting into diverse projects and showing his many faces.
