It's no secret that every interview with Robert Smith tends to follow a similar structure, covering his background, education, the creation of Vista Equity Partners, and his successful mindset. While these topics are undoubtedly important and informative, it would be refreshing to hear something new and in-depth about the specific accomplishments and innovations that Vista has achieved and is looking to achieve. We would love to gain deeper insights into the company's latest ventures, technologies, and strategies, rather than rehashing familiar ground. This would provide a more comprehensive understanding of Vista's impact and contributions to the industry.

I agree. It’d be great to know more about the companies and what they did before acquisition , what their current focus is, and where VE see them headed in the near future.

We’ll said! I’ve seen at least a dozen interviews and you’re absolutely right: same info. I wish all these podcasters were more journalistic than clout chasers. It’d be so much more refreshing.

That is cognitive but to have seen them all (different media vids and clips) is to understand the entertainment in what's (if optional) slightly different and embrace that its actually that very mindset in regard to what he will disclose and the methodology that is evidently that that makes him perhaps special Ppl have to want more to me desired and to understand him at partial and or full disclosure is to know that we need to pull socialistic heads out their a* and allow ppl to somewhat maintain competitive advantages all while not sub optimizing per se (may you hear Robert saying "church" haha) good night ppl I like Robert the business man as well

It's a real blessing to hear RS's views on AI - there is much concern about potential 'value-disrupting' effects of AI on existing businesses. The fact is, there is a lot of concern about that. But when he casts it as just a new innovation that will lead to continued growth in software/technology, it made sense. It's just the disruption phase that is unsettling. Back when we lived in Sunnyvale and a 120K ISDN line was the best home internet most people had, I suspect the rapid obsolescence of ISDN was an unwanted change for ISDN providers, but if they adopted higher bandwidth processing capability, they stayed in business. Right now we have 1 gigabit at home and the 120k is hard to fathom, what we tolerated with the "world wide wait." This was a reassuring episode, because RS's experience reframed the disruption of AI as "business as usual." But still, the fallout/disruption is continuing to unfold and Saas companies must be "all hands on deck" right now, to figure out how to stay relevant. I thought that RS might elaborate on challenges but he was cool, calm, rational, helpful, and it was reassuring. .
