Is your guitar set up correctly? I've played for 40 years and found that a lot of young kids give up on guitar simply because the action is set so high, playing caused pains, blisters and misery. That's why many expensive guitars (and cheap ones) get played with for a few minutes and then sit in a case until they're sold. I bought an 800.00 Takamine close to 10 years ago, after a year I took it to a luthier and had is set up, I was asked what size strings I use and I said Elixir Custom Lights. When I got it back it was amazing. Go to a guitar store and see if a salesperson can show you a guitar that's set up to play like a guitar and not a violin. There may be some blistering if you play for hours and hours but rarely bleeding.
@Sparky_00711 ай бұрын
@@jumpercable20 Heya. Yeah. Thanks for the reply. Well the guitar I'm playing is probably a 40 year old beat up Madeira with the frets worn etc. SO I know I'm not doing myself any favors with it. I gotta get a decent guitar, but embarrassed to say I can't really shell out any money for a decent guitar. So I'm stuck with this one.

After stepping away for about 35 years I am in my last few good years of work and picking up the guitar again.
