Between the Gaethje fight and Khabib retiring, Tony lost his spark. I don't think his skill is the biggest issue but his age and especially his mindset. So I don't hate this idea as much as everyone else... this is his last shot and he needs a hail mary, out of the ordinary game plan, for an out of the ordinary individual. As long as his body is recovered this may be what he needs mentally to get back in the fight.

I think his problem is his age combined with his style of fighting. He relies heavily on volume, and overwhelming his opponent, and he's taken a lot, and I mean a lot of blows over the years, and that Gaethje fight was a disgrace and should have been stopped way before it was, as he was like a zombie, walking about taking blow after blow, but offering nothing back in reality. There's just no way you can be the same after taking all those hits
