Crazy how fans turn on fighters so fast. Don't be surprised when Rob beats Paulo Costa. Costa hasn't fought in a long time. The division has had time to pass him by. Rob lost to the champ and the former champ. That doesn't mean he is done for. He might not win the belt but he will stay at the top 4 or 5. Nobody takes as many tough fights as Rob takes.

I think Whittaker just got hit with an extremely well placed strike in his fight with DDP....for lack of a better word, DDP could've gotten "lucky" with the that straight punch because in high speed replay you could actually see the entirety of Whittakers upper skull deform under the immense impact if that strike, just the fact he wasn't rendered fully unconscious astounds me

Whittake needs to work with tim tszyu again. he did for a good while there leading up to the gastelum fight and his hands were looking sharp asf. And he kept drilling those kicks. I felt even in the ddp fight he barley threw any head kicks even if they arnt landing clean he needs to keep throwing them cause eventually itll pay off. He relied too much on just trying to box ddp an his hands wernt looking as sharp compared to gastelum fight. First time i seen him get man handled in wrestling too it was crazy he couldve put it on ddp but just threw himself sttaigh into the big shots. Hope he learns and fixes his mistakes in order to come back to the robby that was decimating everyone like the vettori fight aswell.

I remember an interview right after the match was announced. He said that he was surprised about the announcement since there was no discussion about it. Whittaker ended up doing the same mistakes against Plessis, which he used to do against southpaws, so he has his own bad habits. The reason Adesanya and Whittaker have had so much success at middleweight until now is because the middleweight divison has lacked elite grapplers for the last 6+ years. Adesanya, Alex, Romero, and others never did any submissions at all. They're all one trick fighters. Even Whittaker hasn't submitted anyone for over a decade now and has ZERO submission wins inside the UFC. The middleweight divison should be ashamed of itself considering that Adesanya has been taken down around 30 times during his career and nobody could do anything about it...
