I was a bit disappointed with Robert's previous album-- mwôh!. But ever since Soft Machine I was in love with his voice, he has a unique, dreamy voice. So I, almost automatically, bought his new one:, 'Cuckooland'. It became one of my favorite Wyatt albums (my #1 is Rockbottom-- 1974, post-hippie trippy!) As you state, his voice is made for 'How Insensitive'. Which is imo also the most beautiful bossanova ever composed. At one time I even started to collect versions from other singers. (damn, Sergio Mendez never recorded it!) I'm 🥰 to have added Robert Wyatt's now! ...What do I mean by other 'unique 'singers? Roger 'Chappo' Chapman, Jon Anderson, PJ Proby, Scott Walker, Riccardo Cocciante, and the new Internet wonder warblers: Matthew J Bellamy, (Muse), Tim Rose, Ethan Bortnick. They all have their own specific golden wonder voices. If you haven't done it yet, check out these guys!

I imagine Wyatt might have listened to some of Kip Hanrahan's albums, or been inspired to listen to Jobim and co. Good rendering, and nice to hear the lyrics in English.
