Bitcoin can't be used the gas fees r to high and can't do 1000 of transaction a second

lightning network transactions 1 million TPS (transactions per second). On layer 1 you need secure not speed

@@geoms6263 The ECB wrote a paper in June on how the BTC Lightning Network with off chain private transactions is facilitating money laundering. My guess is some Governments or the ECB will prosecute a few large LN Nodes as unregulated money transmitters and maybe confiscate the Pool BTC. Which could be a big problem for BTC.

You can sent 10 billion USD worth of bitcoin for 0.20 USD right now. Final settlement in ~10min on a sunday night. There is no other technology which can do that.
