The horizontal embouchure is the way to go! It instantly improved my singing. Much fewer out of tune notes. Thank you so much! It also gives me a different voice.

Excellent advice. It's also a configuration that you need to get comfortable with menally and physically because it can feel a little unnatural at first, but so important.

Just out of curiosity. Isn't the horizontal embouchure a LOT more likely to make singers "spread" their vowels and strain even more?
@afy_jb8 жыл бұрын
***** Ok. I was just wondering because my vocal coach encourages a narrow embouchure when I sing because I strain a lot more in the wider variation

thank u!!! this is so important in singing!!

Is that a Shure KSM9 mic on the right? Any tips for using that specific microphone? I've been using it a lot but don't have much experience with mics.

Hi Rob. Thanks for the video! You know the big open mouth that Ken Tamplin teaches with the bright 'ping' sound in the back of the throat? That is connected with Embouchure, right? From just watching your video I would say that you don't agree with the extremely wide and open mouth that Tamplin teaches, because it's too much opening of the jaw right? Would you say that the bright 'ping' tone is the tone we want to achieve? I have noticed in some of your other videos that you have a similar tone when starting on an octave siren.

Example of singer who use vertical ambouchure mostly Chester bennington
@ragnarkisten4 жыл бұрын
My personal opinion is that the embouchure should be more vertical than what you are demonstrating. Too much sideways lip-pressing causes hoarseness and negative impact on the tone.

Minimalize movements. Narrowed vowels need to be more physically narrowed. More efficiency by making the tongue work more. Less bulky jaw movements and more tongue and internal vowel shaping is what pros do. www.TheVocalistStudio.com

Jack Black does this in his singing movies. Did you train him? Wait, are you his brother. JK On a serious note, I see Bruno Mars doing something like this when he sings.

Every good singer should do this, it's good technique
