For me, this song has both a sad and a happy side to it. Taking the song title into account, it reminds me a lot of how simple and fun the days where when I was young, yet it also makes me think how the naive, overly positive, outlook on life I had back then turned out to be wrong. Contrary to what one believes as a child, life isn't just always going to be great, it will go downhill many more times than one thinks. Still, both sides hold some truth; life isn't awesome all the time but it tends to present a lot of good opportunities to you nonetheless.

This song always reminds me of my dad that passed away 10 years ago. He raised me by himself all my life because my mom passed away when I was just a baby. I have no memory of her but I do have videos and pictures and that makes me happy. All my life i aimed to make my dad proud but at the same time I was so lost and scared of losing him that I never had the courage to talk to him about life after he’s gone... he also never got to see me graduate high school and that thought never went away either 😞 I miss you dad.
